Inauguration of a building funded by Italian ODA at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University.

On December 10th, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, held an inauguration ceremony for a building constructed with preferential loan funds from the Government of the Republic of Italy and domestic counterpart funds. This event marks a new step forward in the field of medicine and medical personnel training between Vietnam and Italy.

This project marks a new milestone in Vietnam-Italy cooperation in the field of medicine and medical personnel training.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Marco Della Seta, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Vietnam; Ms. Margherita Lulli, Director of the Italian Development Cooperation Office in Hanoi; representatives from central ministries and agencies, leaders of Hue city and Hue University, as well as professors and scientists from Sassari University, Italy.

The facility is used for training, research, and medical examination and treatment, especially in the fields of obstetrics, pediatrics, and high-tech specialties.

The Italian ODA project for the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, has a total investment of VND 171.9 billion, including a preferential loan of EUR 5.6 million from the Italian Government. The building, constructed on an area of ​​1,882 m², comprises 7 floors with a total floor area of ​​11,618 m². It is a key project aimed at enhancing training, research, and medical examination and treatment capabilities, particularly in the fields of obstetrics, pediatrics, and high-tech specialties.

The University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, follows the national-level School-Hospital model, aiming to achieve international standards.

In addition to infrastructure, the project also invested over 1.11 million EUR in modern medical equipment and supported the training of personnel, researchers, and postgraduate students at Sassari University. Bringing the facility into operation contributes to expanding high-quality healthcare capacity and realizing the goal of developing the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, into a national-level university-hospital model, aiming to achieve international standards.
