A female nurse at Bach Mai Hospital saved a patient at an infirmary.
Holding a certificate of commendation from the Director of Bach Mai Hospital, nurse Dang Thi Ha (29 years old, working at the A9 Emergency Center) said that saving lives is her responsibility as a medical staff member. She also expressed pride in having studied and trained at Bach Mai Hospital to respond quickly and provide timely treatment to patients.
"At that moment, I only thought about how to save the patient, not caring who they were," nurse Ha said, adding that she was fortunate to have helped the Indian tourist escape danger, giving international friends a better impression of the country's healthcare system.
Director of Bach Mai Hospital, Dao Xuan Co, presents a certificate of commendation to the female nurse.
Associate Professor Dr. Dao Xuan Co, Director of Bach Mai Hospital, shared that the fact that nurses in Ha provided emergency care to foreign tourists is a beautiful image of Vietnamese medical staff in the eyes of the community and the world.
The foreign man who suffered cardiac arrest at a restaurant in Da Nang would likely not have survived if he hadn't been coincidentally given emergency treatment by an A9 nurse who was present at the scene. "It's truly gratifying that medical staff, wherever they are—hospitals or the community—can save lives," he said.
The Director of Bach Mai Hospital commended nurse Dang Thi Ha and the A9 Emergency Center. On behalf of the hospital's leadership, Associate Professor Co presented a certificate of merit to nurse Dang Thi Ha for her outstanding achievements in providing emergency care to patients in the community.
Mr. Co assessed that pre-hospital emergency care is very important and will give patients a chance to survive. Patients who experience cardiac arrest and are not given emergency care within a few minutes risk brain damage, and those with spinal cord injuries who do not receive proper first aid may suffer lifelong consequences.
In the near future, Center A9 will have an outpatient emergency department. The hospital also plans to train staff in outpatient emergency care to equip the outpatient emergency system, the leader added.
Earlier, at around 8 PM on March 24th, nurse Dang Thi Ha was having dinner with four friends at a restaurant in Son Tra district, Da Nang, when a foreign man at the next table suddenly suffered cardiac arrest.
She quickly approached, checked the man's pulse, and performed CPR, saving the tourist from danger.
The patient is Mr. Narinder (from India), who was traveling in Da Nang with his wife. He has a history of coronary artery disease and has undergone coronary artery bypass surgery.
