Prosecution of 318 defendants related to "Major vehicle inspection case"

On March 10, Ho Chi Minh City Police announced that through expanding the investigation into the "Big Vehicle Inspection Case", the unit has prosecuted a total of 318 defendants to investigate violations and negative acts in the field of vehicle inspection.

From February 29 to March 5, Ho Chi Minh City Police issued decisions to prosecute and arrest 63 suspects at 10 motor vehicle inspection centers and businesses that construct and renovate motor vehicles in many provinces and cities, to continue investigating and clarifying the acts of "Receiving bribes", "Giving bribes", "Brokering bribes", "Forging documents of agencies and organizations; using fake documents of agencies and organizations".

The above orders and decisions have been approved and executed by the People's Procuracy of Ho Chi Minh City.

To date, Ho Chi Minh City Police have prosecuted a total of 318 defendants related to violations in the field of vehicle registration.

At the same time, the authorities have gradually clarified the systematic negative violations, organized throughout from a number of leaders of the Vietnam Register, the Department of Motor Vehicle Inspection to the directors of many registration centers, causing particularly serious consequences for society.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City Police promptly reported to the Ministry of Public Security to propose that the specialized State management agency implement a series of solutions to improve the effectiveness of State management of motor vehicle inspection activities, typically: Exemption from first-time motor vehicle inspection, spacing of inspection cycles, decentralization of authority associated with inspection, strict control of inspection activities for localities... contributing to gradually tighter management of motor vehicle inspection activities.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City Police are continuing to investigate and expand the case.
