On the afternoon of October 16, at Dong Thap University, the Organizing Committee of the Southwest Regional Qualifying Round of the 2025 National Student Football Tournament held a draw and scheduled the competition. This is an annual playground organized by the Ministry of Education and Training , aiming to create an environment for exchange, physical training and discovering football talents among students nationwide.
The Southwestern region qualifying round has 7 participating teams, divided into 2 groups: Group A includes Dong Thap University, Tra Vinh University and Can Tho University; Group B includes Vinh Long University of Technical Education, Nam Can Tho University, Tay Do University and Cuu Long University.

The teams will compete in a round robin to score points, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals. The two winners will represent the region in the national finals in Hanoi , taking place in mid-November.
To encourage the competitive spirit, the Organizing Committee will award prizes to the teams with high achievements: the champion team receives 10 million VND, the runner-up team 6 million VND and the two third-place teams each receive 4 million VND.

The tournament will start on October 17 and end with the final match on October 26. In the opening match, Dong Thap University will face Tra Vinh University at 4:30 p.m. on October 17.
