Similar to 2024, Quang Nam's tourism industry will announce its tourism stimulus program in April this year. However, instead of announcing the program in Quang Nam as before, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will organize promotional conferences and introduce the incentive program in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi respectively.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, organizing the announcement of the local tourism stimulus program within the framework of a major tourism event such as the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival will help disseminate information most widely to tourists and partners.
Another new feature is that phase 1, "Quang Nam - Summer Emotions," of this year's stimulus program has been moved up, implemented in April instead of May.
The fact that many stimulus packages take effect in April will be quite helpful as this is the beginning of the peak season for domestic tourists with two major holidays: Hung Kings' Commemoration Day and the April 30th - May 1st holidays, helping to increase the attractiveness of Quang Nam tourism to visitors.
This year's tourism stimulus program is being launched in the context of Quang Nam province having just announced a new tourist route, "Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Heaven's Gate," which is also a noteworthy new tour being developed and offered to tourists.
Reportedly, Vietravel has launched a "tour where nature and culture harmonize" based on this route, including two additional destinations in Hoi An: Tra Que Vegetable Village and CSO Gallery Museum, priced at approximately 7 million VND per person (departing from Ho Chi Minh City), which includes sightseeing, accommodation, and airfare for 3 days and 2 nights.
According to information from Hang Gợp Ecological Tourism Joint Stock Company, the company officially launched the Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Heaven's Gate bus route on April 5th and will offer free transportation until April 18th (4 round trips per day) to stimulate demand and serve tourists visiting and experiencing this route.
In addition, this year, finding and "hunting" for travel deals in Quang Nam will be easier as many destinations and major accommodations in the province have signed cooperation agreements with Ivivu JSC (an online hotel booking system).
Waiting for tangible results
The Quang Nam tourism stimulus program has been maintained for many years and adjusted annually to suit the changing tourism context. However, its effectiveness remains questionable.

According to feedback from travel businesses, despite efforts to diversify products to stimulate demand, some tours incorporating new destinations in the southern part of the province, such as Cua Khe and Tra Doa (Thang Binh); O O Waterfall (Tien Phuoc)... have received very little interest and bookings from tourists. Most tourists focus on "hunting" for accommodation deals or destinations near Hoi An.
Notably, the "Vietnam - Travel to Love" tourism stimulus program of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism mentions that discounts of up to 50% on products and services may be offered, depending on the service category and applicable conditions announced by tourism, transportation, and service providers as regulated.
The tourism stimulus program "Quang Nam - Green Heritage Region" also includes some products with discounts of up to 50%, however, the detailed regulations that accompany them may not be very appealing to tourists.
For example, the tour to experience the Bay Mau coconut forest and explore local cuisine will have a 50% discount, but this only applies to groups of 10-15 people during September-October (the low season with unpredictable weather).
Furthermore, it's worth remembering that last year, the second phase of the "Golden Season in Quang Nam" tourism stimulus package (September - November) did not yield significant results. Maintaining the "Golden Season in Quang Nam" stimulus package this year requires flexibility and creativity in tour routes to adapt to the unique characteristics of Quang Nam tourism and create a widespread impact on visitors.
According to Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, tourism businesses play a key role in creating attractive tourism products and improving service quality.
Following the conference announcing Quang Nam's tourism stimulus program, it is expected that more cooperation agreements will be signed, such as the cooperation program between Heineken Vietnam Brewery Co., Ltd. and Quang Nam's tourism industry in 2025 to create new tourism products and stimulate demand to attract tourists.
Mr. Siêu further informed that, in the context of rapid technological development, the tourism industry in Quang Nam in particular and localities in general need to promote the application of digital technology in tourism promotion. Utilizing online platforms, artificial intelligence, and big data will help stimulus programs reach tourists quickly and effectively, while also enhancing the tourist experience.
The tourism stimulus program “Quang Nam - Green Land of Heritage” was announced on April 4th in Ho Chi Minh City with two phases. Phase 1, “Quang Nam - Summer Emotions,” runs from April to August 2025, and Phase 2, “Golden Season in Quang Nam,” runs from September to the end of November 2025. The program is supported by 70 tourism businesses with incentives worth approximately 10 billion VND.
