(HNMO) - The Ministry of Information and Communications has issued a plan to conduct a comprehensive inspection of Tiktok's operations in Vietnam. Specifically, the delegation conducted an inspection at Tiktok Vietnam Technology Co., Ltd. and the representative office of Tiktok Vietnam, located in Ho Chi Minh City; including 8 contents:

Firstly, compliance with regulations on the provision of social network services to domestic users, including: Information censorship process, user authentication, blocking and removing information that violates Vietnamese law, handling user complaints. Algorithms for distributing and recommending content to users. Collection, management, storage and use of user data; ensuring information security and network security.

Second, compliance with advertising regulations.

Third, the management of celebrities and people working in the performing arts field on Tiktok (Idol Tiktok).

Fourth, compliance with legal regulations on child protection; prevention and combat of social evils in cyberspace.

Fifth, evaluate the impact of Tiktok on adolescents.

Sixth, compliance with regulations related to the provision of e-commerce services.

Seventh, tax compliance.

Eighth, evaluate the impact and influence of social network Tiktok on the trends and role of mainstream media.

The host unit is the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, in addition to the units of the Ministry of Information and Communications: Ministry Inspectorate, Department of Information Security, Department of Press, Department of Telecommunications. The inspection team also has the participation of representatives of the following ministries and branches: Public Security; Industry and Trade; Culture, Sports and Tourism; Finance, Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs; Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City.

Previously, answering questions from the press at the regular press conference in May 2023, Mr. Le Quang Tu Do, Director of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, said that starting from May 15, a comprehensive inspection of Tiktok Vietnam will be conducted. The inspection process is expected to last until the end of May 2023.
