- Treasury bill interest rates rose sharply, reaching their highest level since the beginning of the cycle.
In the October 19th trading session, the winning bid interest rate for treasury bills increased to 1.45% from 1% in the previous three sessions, reaching its highest level since the beginning of the treasury bill issuance cycle. The central bank injected a net amount of VND 5,745 billion into the banking system during the October 19th trading session. After today's session, the outstanding amount of treasury bills also decreased to nearly VND 249,950 billion. These treasury bills will mature sequentially from tomorrow until mid-November (according to Nhip Song Thi Truong).
- Vietnamese rice export prices continue to rise sharply, nearing a historical peak.
Surpassing its rival Thailand, the price of Vietnamese exported rice continues its strong upward trend, nearing the historical peak of 643 USD/ton set on August 31st. As of September 15th, rice exports reached nearly 6.73 million tons, with an estimated value of approximately 3.73 billion USD, an increase of 17% in volume and a sharp increase of 34.5% in value compared to the same period last year. - The Deputy Prime Minister requested a definitive resolution of the Dung Quat Shipyard project.
At a meeting this morning on the handling of Dung Quat Shipbuilding Industry Company, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai requested PVN and the State Capital Management Committee at enterprises to quickly finalize the restructuring plan for the Dung Quat shipyard to submit to the Government (according to Dan Tri newspaper).

The Import-Export Department ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) has just announced the list of traders eligible to export rice as of October 18, 2023. Accordingly, 170 traders are on this list (according to VTV).
VinFast's market capitalization has fallen to $14.5 billion.

Vietnam's third-largest real estate company is losing 30 billion VND per day.
Saigon Investment and Development Corporation (SDIC) is the third largest real estate company in the market, after Vinhomes owned by billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong and Novaland owned by Bui Thanh Nhon. However, investors know little about this company and its true owner. It also has one of the largest debts in Vietnam. In the first six months of 2023, the company incurred a loss of nearly 5,402 billion VND, equivalent to a loss of over 30 billion VND per day. (See more)
- The buyer of bầu Đức's hotel in Gia Lai has been revealed.
The entity that acquired the Hoang Anh Gia Lai hotel from Mr. Doan Nguyen Duc's (Chairman Duc) business is Hoan Sinh Gia Lai Investment Co., Ltd. This company was only established about 4 months ago, with a charter capital of 200 billion VND (according to Dan Tri newspaper).

The US dollar exchange rate at commercial banks surged today, surpassing 24,700 VND/USD, reaching its highest level since the beginning of the year.
