In response to Vietnam Family Day (June 28) and the 2024 Month of Action for Children, on the afternoon of June 11, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, in coordination with the Southeast Region Emulation Cluster, organized the Parenting Forum at the Binh Duong Provincial Political School.

Speaking at the forum, Ton Ngoc Hanh, Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union, affirmed that this was the first time a forum addressing parenting education had been organized in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation with widespread information dissemination on television channels in provinces and cities nationwide.
“Parenting is likened to a very special ‘profession,’ a sacred and joyful job, but one that also contains many difficulties and challenges. In this journey, we – those who are and have been parents – have undoubtedly felt confused and bewildered many times. Because in reality, there is no school or course that ‘teaches’ parenting methods/skills in a systematic and scientific way. Only after having children do parents begin their journey of learning to be parents,” said Ms. Ton Ngoc Hanh.
According to the Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union, in the process of caring for and raising children, family, school, and society are important factors with close relationships, directly influencing the shaping and development of a child's personality in the future. While the family is the first cradle that influences a child's character, the school and society are where children are nurtured in terms of personality, morality, and lifestyle, helping them learn fundamental knowledge and life skills, creating a solid foundation for entering life.
As an organization representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of women and children, the Vietnam Women's Union has, for many years, always prioritized and carried out the work of caring for, educating, and protecting children through the role of mothers and families.

Given the increasingly urgent need for childcare, education, and protection, especially the care and nurturing of children through the role of women in the family, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union will continue to focus on parenting education to support female cadres and members in accessing and improving their knowledge and skills in parenting.
At the Forum, delegates had the opportunity to exchange and share practical experiences in raising children; listen to experts in the fields of education, family, and children share their views on issues attracting social attention such as: the responsibility of families and society as a whole in caring for and treating children's mental health; protecting children from violence and abuse; skills in building family happiness in the digital age…
The forum also provides an opportunity for the Women's Union of provinces/cities to share the advantages, difficulties, and propose appropriate solutions in implementing parenting education content, contributing to the effective implementation of the 2024-2025 theme of Project 938 "Parenting Education in Child Care and Protection".
At the event, delegates also heard representatives from the Department of Education and Training, parents, and students in Binh Duong province share their priorities in the care, education, and protection of children.
