On the morning of August 16, at Ho Chi Minh Square (Truong Vinh ward), Nghe An province organized the program "Moving forward with Vietnam" to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and the traditional day of the People's Public Security (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025).

President Ho Chi Minh has passed away, but his image will always live on in the mountains and rivers of Vietnam; his thoughts will always guide the Vietnamese revolution from one victory to another.

“Moving Forward with Vietnam” organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Ministry of Public Security is a community activity of unprecedented scale and significance, taking place at a special moment when the whole country is entering a new stage of development along with the rearrangement of administrative units.

The event was held simultaneously in 34 provinces and cities, spreading to 3,321 communes, wards and administrative zones nationwide with about 150,000 - 200,000 participants, recording 1 billion footsteps in just 1 hour.

At exactly 6:00 a.m., at Ho Chi Minh Square, provincial leaders, along with all cadres, teachers, union members, youth and people in red shirts with yellow stars, headed to the historic Ba Dinh Square to watch the national flag raising ceremony, singing the national anthem in unison, creating a solemn and sacred atmosphere to promote patriotism, national pride, and practically celebrate the country's important anniversary.

Next, the provincial leaders and all cadres and people from all walks of life walked on Truong Thi Street to respond to the message "1 billion steps into the new era".

The walking activity represents the meaning and spirit of progress for a united, strong Vietnam, ready to step into a new era - the era of national aspirations, of the spirit of progress for a powerful future.

This is not only a sports event responding to the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and the movement "Healthy to build and protect the Fatherland", but also a journey of millions of hearts beating together - a place where all generations and all classes of people from the Central to local levels, from urban to rural, mountainous, remote and isolated areas converge.

In addition, each step recorded through the campaign's digital platform will become a "green step" - a small but meaningful action that demonstrates patriotism, spreads a healthy lifestyle, contributes to reducing carbon emissions, raises awareness of environmental protection and moves towards the country's Net Zero goal.

Not only organized at the provincial level, in 127 communes and wards in Nghe An province, based on the actual situation, the event "Moving Forward with Vietnam" was also organized with the participation of many officials and people from all walks of life in the area.

Previously, the Provincial People's Committee issued a plan to organize the activity "Moving Forward with Vietnam" and encouraged people from all walks of life to wear red shirts with yellow stars and participate in the flag-raising ceremony and sing the National Anthem.
