Bac Ninh: Donated 160 wheelchairs to disabled people in difficult circumstances

BAC NINH - On the afternoon of December 3, at Bac Ninh Center for Disease Control No. 1, the Department of Health of Bac Ninh province coordinated with businesses to organize the "Wheels of Love" program to donate wheelchairs to people with disabilities in difficult circumstances in the province.

Attending the program were leaders of the Department of Health , the Provincial People's Committee Office, sponsoring units and representatives of leaders of some communes, wards and people with disabilities in the province.

According to the Department of Health, in the province there are currently nearly 50,000 disabled people receiving monthly social benefits, of which nearly 12,000 are severely disabled.

In recent years, Bac Ninh province has issued many specific social security policies to better care for people's lives, especially vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities. The Department of Health has advised on organizing many meaningful programs and activities to support people with disabilities such as: Propaganda, training life skills for people with disabilities to integrate into the community; visiting and giving gifts to people with disabilities...

Implementing the cooperation plan with the Provincial People's Committee, on this occasion, the companies: Samsung Electronics Vietnam, Samsung Display Vietnam and Samsung SDI Vietnam gave gifts to 160 disabled people in difficult circumstances in the province. Each gift includes 1 wheelchair and 1 electric kettle; total value of more than 1.1 billion VND.

This is an annual activity in a series of social responsibility activities of businesses accompanying Bac Ninh province to support vulnerable groups.

Speaking at the program, the leaders of the Department of Health sincerely thanked the long-term companionship of businesses in implementing social security policies in the province.

The Department of Health leaders presented the sponsorship certificate to the representative of Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd.

At the same time, we hope that the Bac Ninh Health sector will continue to receive more attention, help and companionship from the companies: Samsung Electronics Vietnam, Samsung Display Vietnam and Samsung SDI Vietnam in joining hands to support people with disabilities in particular and vulnerable groups in general in the province to confidently rise up and integrate into the community.

At the program, businesses directly gave gifts to people with disabilities from the communes and wards of Nhan Hoa, Vo Cuong, Phat Tich, Lien Bao, Bo Ha, Tam Tien, Da Mai and the province's General Social Protection Facility.
