Liverpool lost their fourth consecutive match in the Premier League

Traveling to Brentford's Gtech Stadium following a 5-1 win over Frankfurt in the Champions League, Liverpool were full of confidence with Mohamed Salah back in the starting line-up.

Coach Arne Slot deployed the Egyptian star to support Ekitike in attack, along with Wirtz and Gakpo to form an energetic attacking quartet. However, what happened was a “nightmare night” for the defending champions.

In the 5th minute, Ouattara opened the scoring for the home team with a precise close-range shot. Despite trying to regain control of the game, The Reds still struggled against Brentford's tight defense and quick counter-attacking style. In the 45th minute, Schade took advantage of a delicate through ball to make it 2-0, putting Liverpool in a difficult position.

Before the first half ended, Kerkez managed to shorten the gap to 1-2 with a close-range shot, rekindling hope for the away team.

But all efforts after the break were in vain when Brentford were awarded a penalty in the 60th minute and Thiago coolly increased the score to 3-1. Salah scored in the 89th minute, but it was too late to save the match.

Losing 2-3, Liverpool continued to slide with their fourth consecutive defeat in the Premier League, falling to 6th place. The crisis of Arne Slot's team clearly shows no signs of stopping.
