Leaked 2024 high school graduation exam questions cause a stir: What is the truth?

On the morning of June 26, speaking with a reporter from Dan Viet newspaper, a representative of the Ministry of Education and Training said: "We are verifying and handling information about the leaked 2024 high school graduation exam questions."

Specifically, on the night of June 25, in some groups and forums on the internet, there was sharing and spreading false information about "leaking the 2024 high school graduation exam questions".

After receiving feedback on the above incident, the Ministry of Education and Training discussed and requested the Ministry of Public Security to assist in verifying the subject posting false information. Currently, the Ministry of Public Security is organizing verification to handle according to the provisions of law.

To avoid causing public confusion and affecting the psychology of candidates taking the 2024 high school graduation exam, the Ministry of Education and Training requests that people do not share the above false information.

Acts of posting and sharing false, fake, or distorted information will be handled according to current regulations.

Previously, on the evening of June 25, some student groups on social networks were spreading information about leaked 2024 high school graduation exam questions in Literature, Math and Foreign Language. Immediately after that, other candidates continuously spread photos of some posts and messages mentioning the 2024 high school graduation exam questions.

For Literature, these group pages say: The Reading Comprehension section is a paragraph, not a poem. Social commentary is content that deals with the national theme, which is the foundation for building peace …

For the English exam, the information spread that 7 questions in the reading comprehension will be taken from a major American newspaper published on May 28, the other 5 questions "taken from a school that issued the final exam for the second semester 4 years ago". For the Math exam, "the first 30 questions are very easy, from question 33 it gets more difficult... the climax from question 36 is very difficult with many new and very difficult and strange math problems, the last 7 questions are very difficult...".

What will the high school graduation exam be like in 2024?

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, 2024 is the last year of teaching and testing according to the 2006 generaleducation program. Therefore, the 2024 high school graduation exam will basically maintain the same structure as the 2023 high school graduation exam.

However, to prepare for the transition to a new stage, the exam questions should reasonably increase some content related to practical application to gradually approach the orientation of capacity assessment, in line with the requirements for developing learners' capacity and qualities of the 2018 general education program.

Specifically, in terms of structure, format and differentiation level: the basic exam remains stable with 4 cognitive levels: recognition, understanding, application and high application; consistent with the goals of the high school graduation exam.

Regarding content, the exam ensures scientific and accurate knowledge and skills standards of the 2006 general education program; has higher differentiation, especially questions at the application and high application levels.

Regarding the question format, the literature subject is tested in essay form, the test is designed to encourage students to develop their creativity, limiting sample essays. The remaining 14 subjects are objective multiple choice tests with 4 options A or B, C, D.

Previously, during the 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi, social networks were also abuzz with information that the Literature exam had been leaked and that the entire Math and Foreign Language exam had to be replaced. However, this information was denied by the Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, Tran The Cuong.
