The reason Vinicius is angry with Real

The sudden withdrawal of the promise of a 10 million euro bonus per season by Real Madrid's board of directors has left Vinicius ready to leave.

The relationship between Vinicius Junior and Real Madrid is deteriorating.

The Brazilian star's future at Real Madrid is in limbo due to a huge difference in bonus clause demands between the two parties.

In May, Vinicius was very close to agreeing a deal with Real Madrid's board. According to ESPN , the new contract is expected to bring the 25-year-old striker a fixed salary of up to 20 million euros per year, along with 10 million euros in bonuses based on individual and collective achievements, such as goals, assists and titles won.

This will push Vinicius' total income to the highest level in the team, on par with Kylian Mbappe. The two sides have almost agreed on all terms and plan to sign a new contract, keeping Vinicius at the Bernabeu until 2030.

However, Real Madrid then suddenly changed the negotiated terms. The 10 million euro bonus, the key factor for Vinicius to accept without "breaking" the club's salary structure, was completely removed.

Instead, Real's proposal focused on a fixed salary of around 20-23 million euros/year, without attractive variable bonuses. This made Vinicius angry and felt "unfair". Things got worse after Vinícius had disagreements in his relationship with coach Xabi Alonso since the beginning of the season.

Vinicius' current contract runs until June 2027, with a salary of around 17 million euros/year (including bonuses). Negotiations between the player and Real could extend into 2026, as internally "Los Blancos" still consider Vinicius a valuable asset.

Two goals in the Chelsea - Arsenal match. Early morning of December 1, Chelsea and Arsenal drew 1-1 in a dramatic match in round 13 of the Premier League 2025/26.
