Attending the departure ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors; leaders of Yen Chau district and Moc Chau town; typical enterprises, cooperatives and plum growing households in the area.
With over 85,000 hectares of fruit trees, Son La is currently the locality with the second largest fruit tree area in the country and the largest in the North. Of which, the plum area is 14,550 hectares with an estimated output of 100,000 tons in 2025. Son La plums are famous for their plump, crunchy, sweet, and slightly sour fruit, and have become one of the province's key agricultural products.
Son La Province Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Environment has selected a supplier of 2,000 kg of high-quality plums to serve meals on Vietnam Airlines flights through Noi Bai Air Catering Joint Stock Company. Plums are carefully selected to meet strict standards for domestic and international flights.
In addition, Son La plums are widely distributed through the retail systems of Saigon Co.op, Go! and WinCommerce, meeting consumer demand nationwide, especially in the Southern market.
Speaking at the departure ceremony, comrade Nguyen Thanh Cong hoped that Vietnam Airlines, Saigon Co.op, Go! and Wincommerce would create favorable conditions and preferential mechanisms for enterprises and cooperatives of Son La province to sign contracts to supply Son La agricultural products, bringing products to consumption in their supermarket systems, especially mangoes, longans... fruits that meet safety standards, have large areas and outputs and are in harvest season. At the same time, support the communication of Son La province's strong agricultural products, introduce enterprises to cooperate and consume Son La province's agricultural products in supermarkets and stores. Son La province is committed to creating a favorable business environment, providing the highest support for enterprises inside and outside the province, especially enterprises participating in investment in production, harvesting, preliminary processing, processing, preserving, consuming and exporting agricultural products.
Immediately after the ceremony, more than 2 tons of Son La plums departed to supply Vietnam Airlines meals.
