The guidance on inviting experts, artists, and athlete coaches to participate in educational activities in general schools is an important step to concretize Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development (Resolution 71).

Within the framework of the School Drama Project, more than 1,100 primary school students in Hoan Kiem Ward ( Hanoi ) enjoyed the play series "Grandma's Tale", adapted from two works "The Legend of the Tet Pole" and "Orphan Trial". These are works in the 2018 Literature Program staged and performed by artists of the Hanoi Drama Theater.

Welcoming students to enjoy the works of art, People's Artist Nguyen Trung Hieu - Director of Hanoi Drama Theater said that since 2022, the Hanoi People's Committee has approved the Project "Introducing and performing plays adapted from famous domestic and foreign literary works included in the general education program".

To implement the project, Hanoi Drama Theater cooperated with units and schools to organize for students to experience and directly access these works. Through this, students not only deepen their knowledge, but also develop a love for literature, feel the humanistic values ​​and artistic beauty, especially Vietnamese drama.

“After watching the play, students said that literary works were no longer abstract and difficult to remember, and they loved historical figures and Hanoi more. Therefore, the effective implementation of the project will promote practical significance in education and the preservation of traditional values,” said People’s Artist Trung Hieu.

Ms. Tran Bich Lien - Principal of Trang An Primary School (Hoan Kiem, Hanoi) shared that mobilizing artisans, artists, and professional athletes to participate in educational activities in schools, especially in the fields of culture, arts, sports, and life skills, is a positive direction.

With the advantage of being located in the center of the capital, the school has the opportunity to invite many famous artists to exchange and participate in cultural and artistic activities, bringing students unique performances and a vibrant atmosphere. The school also implements many models and activities for students to develop both physically and in life skills.

Mr. Nguyen Khac Ly - Vice Principal of Thach That High School (Tay Phuong, Hanoi) said that organizing educational activities with the participation of artists, artisans, and athletes is a necessary and meaningful direction. Being guided by professional and highly specialized artists, students absorb knowledge faster and more effectively.

Implementing the 2018 General Education Program, the school is a pioneer in teaching art subjects to students. To overcome the problem of funding and human resources, the school has taken the initiative to invite artists from the Vietnam National Academy of Music to teach online. The results have been very positive: Students are very enthusiastic to participate and can all play a musical instrument after one year of study.

Realizing Resolution 71

In the 2025-2026 school year, the Ministry of Education and Training has directed localities and schools to invite experts, artisans, artists, coaches, and athletes to participate in educational activities - a new point in implementing 2-session teaching/day.

According to Hanoi schools, up to now, inviting experts, artisans, artists, coaches, and athletes to participate in educational activities in general schools is still confusing. Students' families also do not really understand the purpose and meaning of this, so they do not really agree.

Ms. Bui Thi Nhan - parent of a student at Tan Dinh Secondary School (Tuong Mai Ward), shared: Hearing the news that schools will invite artists and experts to teach skills and arts, I find it quite interesting and look forward to it. However, I am also wondering about the teaching content, will I have to pay extra money? Who will supervise the revenue and expenditure? Will students be overloaded?

Meanwhile, Ms. Tran Le Khanh - Principal of Linh Nam Secondary School (Vinh Hung Ward) said that inviting artists, artisans, and experts to participate in educational activities in schools is necessary, contributing to improving the quality of specific subjects and solving the problem of teacher staffing, aiming at the goal of improving the quality of comprehensive education in ethics - intelligence - physical fitness - aesthetics.

However, implementing this policy still faces many difficulties, such as parents not really agreeing, students not understanding clearly what they will learn and from whom. Schools also face financial problems to organize, while social mobilization is also limited.

In order to remove obstacles for schools and ensure the organization of teaching 2 sessions/day, the Ministry of Education and Training has sent a document to the Departments of Education and Training, universities, and research institutes with high schools to guide them in inviting experts, artisans, artists, coaches, and athletes to participate in educational activities.

According to the guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training, for subjects and educational activities prescribed in the General Education Program that are organized to be taught in the first session, schools can invite experts, artisans, artists, coaches, and athletes to participate in teaching according to the lessons or topics.

Enhancement activities, experiences, art clubs, sports, life skills, cultural exchanges... are organized in the second session; the school can invite experts, artisans, artists, coaches, athletes to participate in educational activities according to the school's approved educational plan.

To mobilize many social forces, especially inviting experts, artisans, artists, coaches, and athletes to participate in educational activities in general schools, specific instructions are needed to unify the purposes, requirements, and conditions. The instructions also aim to unify the implementation process to ensure publicity, transparency, and efficiency, without overloading students.

Musician Nguyen Van Chung, author of the song “Continuing the Peace Story”, who has visited hundreds of schools to teach singing and interact with students, said: Inviting artists to interact and participate in educational activities is the right policy, creating excitement for students to learn; from there, meaningful messages will reach them in the most natural and intimate way.

To bring artists to schools to teach and exchange, schools need to be flexible in their programs. Implementing this policy in public schools will encounter some difficulties in terms of time, scheduling and funding. Therefore, there needs to be a mechanism and policy to maintain this stability in the long term.

According to the guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training, schools need to invite experts, artisans, artists, coaches, and athletes with good qualities, achievements, and prestige; with communication skills, experience, and pedagogical skills appropriate to the age of students. Regarding finance, units use the State budget according to the approved estimate; at the same time, mobilize and use legal socialized resources.
