PV: Mr. President Do Van Chien, 2024 has passed with many difficulties and challenges, but our country has overcome them and achieved many outstanding achievements in economy and social life. To contribute to that success, how has the role and strength of the great national unity bloc been promoted, Mr. President?

Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien: Great solidarity is an extremely precious tradition of our nation, under the leadership of the Party, that tradition is increasingly nurtured and strongly promoted. 2024 can be said to be a year of many difficulties and challenges, but under the correct and timely leadership and direction of the Party Central Committee, directly and regularly by the Politburo and the Secretariat, headed by the General Secretary; the timely, close and effective supervision, accompaniment, proactive coordination of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee; the drastic and effective direction and management of the Government, the Prime Minister, of all levels, sectors and localities; the consensus and joint efforts of businesses and people, our country has overcome all difficulties and challenges, striving to achieve many very proud achievements. We have completed 15/15 socio-economic targets, people's lives have been improved, and the country's position and prestige in the international arena have been enhanced. These great achievements are the efforts of the entire Party, the entire army, and the entire people, in which the strength of the great national unity bloc has been strongly promoted.

The most vivid evidence that can be cited is when our country resiliently overcame storm No. 3 ( Yagi ) - the storm that caused heavy damage in 26 provinces and cities in the North of our country. In that context, promoting the strength of national solidarity, we mobilized social forces and resources, the support of people, businesses, philanthropists at home and abroad, and international friends, we soon restored the lives of people in the damaged areas.

Along with that, the Vietnam Fatherland Front system at all levels has joined the whole country in successfully organizing the 70th anniversary of the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024). Through such profound historical and socio-political events, the spirit of patriotism, pride and self-reliance of the nation in every Vietnamese person has been strongly aroused. And we firmly believe that the great national unity bloc will be increasingly consolidated, strengthened and developed. That is also the most precious essence of the Vietnamese people, the great strength for the nation's rising era.

PV: To consolidate, strengthen and promote the role of the strength of the great national unity bloc, in the past time and especially in 2024, what outstanding programs and activities has the Vietnam Fatherland Front had, Mr. Chairman?

Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien: 2024 is the year that the Vietnam Fatherland Front system at all levels has strongly innovated the content and methods of operation with the motto "thinking honestly, speaking honestly, doing honestly, the people enjoying honestly". Along with the very successful organization of the Congresses of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels and the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, strongly spreading the spirit of great national unity... The Vietnam Fatherland Front has also achieved outstanding results, such as:

Firstly, thoroughly grasping the direction of the Politburo and the Secretariat, the Vietnam Fatherland Front has organized practical activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024). The Vietnam Fatherland Front has coordinated with agencies, departments, branches, and Dien Bien province to mobilize social resources to complete the construction of 5,500 houses for poor households in Dien Bien province and the Northwestern provinces; organized meetings to express gratitude to more than 14,000 Dien Bien soldiers, youth volunteers, and frontline workers who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign. This meaningful activity practically contributed to further fostering the tradition of great national unity.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien and Secretary of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee Tran Quoc Cuong presented gifts to 15 delegates at the meeting and gratitude program for Dien Bien soldiers, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), April 17, 2024.

Second , under the close and decisive direction of the Politburo and the Secretariat, headed by General Secretary To Lam, the Vietnam Fatherland Front has coordinated with the Government and ministries, sectors, agencies and localities to mobilize resources of over VND 2,573 billion to support people in 26 northern provinces and cities that suffered heavy damage from storm No. 3 to soon restore production and stabilize people's lives. For the first time, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has promptly directed the publicity, transparency, and "accounting" of resources received and allocated to ensure that contributions from businesses, people, philanthropists and international friends are used for the right purposes, effectively and under the supervision of the people. This work has been highly appreciated by public opinion.

Third , inheriting and promoting the success of mobilizing social resources to build houses for people in difficult circumstances in Dien Bien province and the Northwestern provinces, the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front reported to the Politburo and the Secretariat, and coordinated with the Central Emulation and Reward Council to launch the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" in 2025. With the highest determination, striving to basically complete more than 300,000 Great Unity houses for the poor and households in difficult circumstances nationwide by 2025. Demonstrating the great concern of the Party, State and society for those in difficult circumstances, so that all Vietnamese people can enjoy the fruits of 40 years of national renovation under the leadership of the Party.

Fourthly , thoroughly grasping the direction of the Politburo, the Central Steering Committee and the direction of General Secretary To Lam, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has resolutely, synchronously, quickly and effectively implemented the review, arrangement and streamlining of the organization and apparatus of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in fulfilling the noble mission assigned by the Party, State and people. By December 31, 2024, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front had completed the review and arrangement of the internal organization and reduced the number of focal points from 16 to 8 focal points; it was assessed by the Central Steering Committee as one of the agencies that performed this task well.

On December 30, 2024, Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Delegation, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, presented the Decision on personnel work to the comrades Heads of Departments and units according to Decision No. 217-QD/TW dated December 28, 2024 of the Politburo.

PV: Mr. President, we are at a historic turning point for the country as we enter a new era - the era of national growth. 2025 is also the year to celebrate a series of important events, including the organization of Party Congresses at all levels leading up to the 14th National Party Congress. In that context, what must the Vietnam Fatherland Front do to continue promoting the strength of the entire nation, arousing the spirit of great solidarity to realize the goals and aspirations of the Party and the nation, Mr. President?

Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien: 2025 is the year of many important events for the country: the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025); the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025); the 135th anniversary of the birth of beloved President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025); also the year of holding Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party. In that context, thoroughly grasping the direction of the Politburo and the Secretariat, the Vietnam Fatherland Front focuses on comprehensively implementing tasks, including the following four key tasks:

Firstly , the Vietnam Fatherland Front will strengthen the work of social supervision and criticism, together with the entire political system, to remove bottlenecks and bottlenecks to unleash all social resources to accelerate and complete the goals and tasks set out by the 13th National Party Congress. Along with that, the Vietnam Fatherland Front will proactively and actively participate in contributing opinions to build documents for Party Congresses at all levels and the 14th National Party Congress, to contribute to bringing our country into a new historical period - the era of national development, building our country rich and prosperous, and the people having a happy life.

Second, the Vietnam Fatherland Front will strengthen propaganda, mobilization, and encouragement of all classes of people to join hands and strive to comprehensively complete the socio-economic targets determined by the 13th National Congress of Delegates, in which the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels will strive together with the entire political system to complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for the poor and disadvantaged people nationwide.

Third , the Vietnam Fatherland Front will do a good job of propaganda and mobilization to get high consensus from all classes of people, cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, and workers, and support the revolution of streamlining the apparatus to be strong, effective, efficient, and effective, serving the needs of businesses and people well so that we can firmly enter a new era - the era of national development. In that spirit, the Fatherland Front at all levels will focus on strongly innovating its working methods, focusing on the grassroots, and synchronously implementing the solutions set forth by the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front through 6 action programs to work with the entire Party, people, and army to comprehensively develop the economy and society; ensure national defense and security; build a strong Party and political system; care for and improve the material and spiritual life of the people.

Fourth , the Vietnam Fatherland Front, through concrete actions closely following its functions and tasks, will continue to strengthen and consolidate the great national unity bloc so that all Vietnamese people can be proud of the extremely precious traditions of the nation; overcome all difficulties, and strive to complete all tasks set out in 2025.
