On the afternoon of July 15th, immediately after the Ministry of Education and Training announced the score distribution for the 2025 high school graduation exam, the Admissions Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) officially announced the minimum quality assurance threshold (admission cutoff score) and the score conversion formula for the regular university admission methods implemented this year.

The minimum admission scores for the four admission methods are 15 points and 18 points.

Specifically, in 2025, HUTECH will recruit students through four methods, including: Admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam; Admission based on 12th-grade academic transcripts with a combination of 3 subjects and a total average score of 18 points or higher for the 3 subjects in 12th grade; Admission based on the average score for the whole year with an average score of 6 points or higher in 12th grade; and admission based on the results of the National University of Ho Chi Minh City's aptitude test or the VSAT 2025 exam.

For each admission method, HUTECH applies two minimum score thresholds as follows: 18 points for the academic transcript-based admission method (methods 2 and 3); 15 points for the admission method based on high school graduation exam results and the National University of Ho Chi Minh City's aptitude test/VSAT exam results (scores converted to a 30-point scale).

For majors in the Health Sciences group, the minimum quality standards for admission are implemented according to separate regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Formulas for converting scores across different admission methods.

Based on the Ministry of Education and Training's guidelines on converting scores between admission methods, HUTECH announces the corresponding score conversion formula to ensure compatibility in the scoring scale, facilitate the effective operation of admission methods on the same reference frame, and ensure fairness, transparency, and maximum convenience for candidates.

Specifically, the benchmark scores between different admission methods are converted from a quantile table with specific quantile range values using interpolation functions.

Accordingly, the cutoff score x within the quantile range [a,b) of this admission method will be interpolated equivalently to the cutoff score y within the quantile range [c,d) corresponding to another admission method using the formula:

The following table shows the correlation between the benchmark scores for different admission methods:

The university awards HUTECH scholarships worth 25% of the tuition fee for the entire course to all candidates who meet one of the following three conditions: a total average score of 20 points or higher in the three subjects of the first semester of 12th grade; a total average score of 20 points or higher in the three subjects for the entire 12th grade year; or a total average score of 20 points or higher for the entire 12th grade year multiplied by three.

After applying the HUTECH Scholarship, the tuition fee for the 2025 cohort is 11 million VND/semester for Bachelor's degree programs (3.5 years, 14 semesters); 10 million VND/semester for Engineering programs (4 years, 16 semesters); and 12 million VND/semester for specialized programs including Architecture, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine (4.5 years, 18 semesters).

In particular, the school is committed to NOT increasing this tuition fee throughout the entire course, creating favorable conditions for students to focus on their studies and personal development in a high-quality training environment.

Besides the HUTECH Scholarship, the University also implements many diverse scholarship policies such as Talent Scholarship, Support Scholarship, Education Scholarship, and Family Scholarship, with values up to 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of tuition fees for the entire course for new students.

Simultaneously, HUTECH is implementing a special incentive policy: Giving an immediate VND 5,000,000 bonus to all candidates who register HUTECH (school code DKC) as their first choice on the Ministry of Education and Training's portal.
