The January competition of the 4th quarter of the 23rd season of "Road to Olympia" took place on July 30th, witnessing a dramatic contest between four contestants: Nguyen Trong Thanh (Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong), Le Thai An (Hanoi Amsterdam High School for the Gifted), Tran Quang Minh (Luong The Vinh High School, Quang Binh ), and Dang Nhat Hung Vo (Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted, Hanoi).
Four contestants competed in the January monthly round of the 4th quarter of the 23rd season of "Road to Olympia," which took place on July 30th.
Entering the first round - the warm-up, all four contestants continuously vied for the right to answer and scored the first points. After 3 rounds of questions, Hung Vo temporarily led the competition with 60 points, followed by Trong Thanh with 55 points, Thai An with 45 points, and Quang Minh with 15 points.
The keyword to find in this Obstacle Course challenge consists of 7 letters. The first horizontal row asks: "According to Marxist-Leninist philosophy, what kind of change will result from a quantitative change to a certain level?". With the answer being "Qualitative change," all four contestants earned an additional 10 points.
As soon as the answer to the first question was revealed, Trong Thanh quickly pressed the buzzer to answer the keyword. The male student gave the incorrect answer "Nuclear" and lost the right to play in the following questions.
Immediately afterwards, Quang Minh pressed the buzzer to answer with the answer "Radiation". The entire studio of the Road to Olympia competition erupted when the MC announced the correct answer and awarded points to Quang Minh.
Thus, after the first two rounds, Quang Minh took the lead with 75 points, Hung Vo had a total of 70 points. Meanwhile, Trong Thanh had 65 points and Thai An had 55 points.
Entering the Speed Round, Trong Thanh made the most outstanding comeback by answering all 4 questions correctly, including 3 super-fast answers to earn an additional 140 points. Thai An also answered all 4 questions correctly to earn an additional 80 points.
At the end of this round, Trong Thanh took the lead with 205 points, followed by Hung Vo with 150 points, Quang Minh with 145 points, and Thai An with 135 points.
In the final round, Trong Thanh chose three questions worth 30, 20, and 20 points each. Answering one of the three questions correctly earned him an additional 20 points, bringing his total to 225 points.
Hung Vo finished with the 20-30-20 point question package. By correctly answering three questions, including the challenging physics practical question, Hung Vo impressively earned 220 points.
Quang Minh chose three questions worth 20, 20, and 30 points, and his "star of hope" was on the final question. Taking advantage of his strong academic performance across all subjects, Quang Minh answered the first two questions correctly in a row, earning 185 points.
By the third question, Quang Minh was unable to answer and had 150 points deducted. Trong Thanh then took the opportunity to answer the question, earning an additional 30 points and solidifying his leading position.
Thai An chose three 30-point questions and answered two correctly. Thanks to the "Star of Hope" feature, Thai An's score increased significantly, propelling him to second place in the climbing team.
Nguyen Trong Thanh (Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong ) won the laurel wreath in the January competition, Quarter 4.
In the end, Nguyen Trong Thanh (Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong) won the January monthly competition, Quarter 4 of the 23rd season of "Road to Olympia" with 255 points. Second place went to Le Thai An with 225 points. Sharing third place were Dang Nhat Hung Vo with 220 points and Tran Quang Minh with 155 points.
