Several organizations are offering free courses and knowledge-sharing programs during this Tet holiday for students, giving them the opportunity to develop their language and professional skills.

During the Lunar New Year holiday, SkillPixel, based in Nha Trang City, collaborated with Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted ( Khanh Hoa province ) to organize a training course for the AI team participating in the 2025 Central and Western Highlands Informatics Olympiad. The program provided in-depth training in areas such as machine learning, computer vision, NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), and AI model refinement.
According to the organizers, the teaching staff includes experts from both Vietnam and abroad, such as Mr. Nguyen Gia Hy, AI lecturer at Swinburne University (Australia); Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Hung, research assistant at the Institute of Applied AI (A2I2, Australia); Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phat, AI research assistant at Hanoi National University; and Mr. Nguyen Minh Hieu, AI research assistant at Ho Chi Minh City National University.
According to the organizers, the aforementioned training course is completely free and open to all, not just those planning to participate in the gifted student competition. Specifically, during the Tet holiday, there will be classes introducing computer vision (January 30th, the second day of Tet) and NLP (February 1st, the fourth day of Tet). These classes will be streamed live on the organization's Facebook page.

During this period, learners can also register for English language courses and professional development programs offered by the Open Professional English Network (OPEN) online program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Foreign Affairs . These are all free courses, ranging from self-study to instructor-led courses, with flexible durations from 5 to 12 weeks. Upon completion, learners can also receive a certificate from the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam.
According to the organizers, currently available courses include English for career development; English for journalism; English for business and entrepreneurship; English for STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics); English for tourism professionals; and many courses for English teachers such as how to create and implement online courses; teaching English to large classes; teaching academic writing in English, etc.
In addition, learners can also participate in a number of inexpensive, or even free, courses on platforms such as Coursera (on topics like business, science, programming, languages...), edX (computer science, engineering, marketing...), Skillshare (creativity, technology, business...), Udacity (AI, machine learning, data analytics...), and Academic Earth (lectures by foreign instructors).

Opportunities to win government scholarships
On February 1st, the New Zealand government began accepting applications for the Manaaki (Fully Funded Postgraduate Scholarship) from Vietnamese applicants. To mark this occasion, Education New Zealand (ENZ) and the University of Auckland (New Zealand) organized an online information session at 10:00 AM that day to guide applicants in securing a scholarship to New Zealand's top university. According to the organizers, despite taking place during the Lunar New Year holiday, hundreds of people registered to attend the event.

On the same day, February 1st, the Australian government officially began accepting applications for the Australian Association of Advanced Studies (AAS) full scholarships for master's degrees from Vietnam. Prior to this, applications for the Fulbright scholarship for postgraduate studies from the US government had also opened, with a deadline of April 1st, similar to the AAS scholarship. For those wishing to study in the UK, applicants can explore various scholarship programs from the UK government, such as GREAT and Women in STEM.
