On the morning of October 17, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a workshop on the management of radio and television services between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and radio and television service providers in 2025.

The workshop provided information on the results of management of radio and television service provision activities; activities of the Vietnam Pay TV Association in the period 2024-2025.

At the same time, units exchanged and shared good models and practices in radio and television broadcasting activities.

At the workshop, Mr. Le Quang Tu Do said that a coordinated operating mechanism to prevent and remove copyright-infringing content on cyberspace is a matter of survival for the radio and television industry.

Previously, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information and network operators established a rapid response team.

Network operators and pay TV services that provide copyrighted content about movies, football, etc., the rapid response team handles it very well, even working from 1am to 5am.

Seven months after the reorganization of the apparatus, there has been no mechanism. Mr. Do raised the question of whether it is necessary to re-establish the rapid response team, and which unit will take the lead? Viettel Telecom representative proposed that network operators participate and at the same time proposed that the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information continue to take the lead.

The Vietnam Pay Television Association agrees to the proposal and continues to implement the process of preventing copyright infringement in cyberspace.

At the same time, the Vietnam Pay TV Association coordinated with the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information to report violations and proposed that the department send a report to the Department of Cyber ​​Security - Ministry of Public Security to propose support in blocking violating links.

Regarding the pay TV service market, Mr. Do informed that by the end of 2024, pay TV will reach 21.4 million subscribers, an increase of nearly 2% compared to 2023. Of which, OTT TV subscribers will reach 9.2 million subscribers, an increase of more than 24% compared to 2023.

Expected revenue by the end of this year is about 10,300 billion VND, reaching 22.5 million subscribers, an increase of 2.8% compared to 2024.

Reporting at the conference, FPT Play presented a paper on solutions to promote the Internet TV market through investment in technology infrastructure and artificial intelligence. Integrating AI into the system helps increase convenience, reduce waiting time, and enhance user experience.

Delegates also proposed solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles that radio and television service providers are facing.
