Heavy rain flooded houses in Bai Ngu hamlet, Tho Chau special zone ( An Giang province).

The People's Committee of Tho Chau special economic zone has sent a report to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province to report the damage.

Previously, continuous heavy rains on October 24 and 25 caused water from the mountainous area to flow down to the residential area of Bai Ngu hamlet. The water poured down so fast that people were unable to react. Many houses were flooded more than half a meter deep, causing property to be inundated.

Immediately after the incident, the local government mobilized police, militia and armed forces on the island to help people move their belongings, clear sewers and drains. Thanks to the timely support, the water receded quickly and there were no human casualties.

Currently, the Tho Chau special zone government is continuing to overcome the consequences, organize environmental sanitation and monitor weather developments, taking precautions against continued heavy rain.
