(Dan Tri Newspaper) - The entrance exam for 10th grade in Nghe An province for the 2025-2026 school year will take place on June 3-4, with three subjects: Mathematics, Literature, and a foreign language (English or French).
The People's Committee of Nghe An province has approved the enrollment plan for 10th grade in the 2025-2026 school year. This plan applies to public high schools, Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School, ethnic boarding schools, and 6th grade ethnic boarding junior high schools.
Candidates will take three compulsory subjects: Mathematics, Literature (essay format, 120 minutes per subject), and Foreign Language (multiple choice, 60 minutes). Notably, the foreign language exam will be graded using software based on the multiple-choice answer sheet.
Eligible candidates are students with permanent residence and studying in Nghe An province, who have graduated from junior high school as prescribed. Students transferring from other provinces require approval from the Department of Education and Training.

The admission method includes entrance exams for schools with more first-choice applications than the quota and selection based on academic records for the remaining schools. Schools participating in the advanced international integration program will select students based on academic records for advanced classes and conduct entrance exams for other classes.
The Department of Education and Training will review and submit to the Provincial People's Committee for approval the specific enrollment quotas for each school, and will publicly announce them so that students and parents are aware before the registration period.
The math and literature exams are graded on a 10-point scale, rounded to the nearest 0.25 point. Each correct answer in the foreign language exam is worth 0.25 points. All three subjects have a weighting of 1. Successful candidates are not allowed to have any exam with a score of 0.
Bonus points will be added according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training . The admission score is the sum of the scores of the three exams plus bonus points (if any).
The Provincial People's Committee requires that the exam questions closely follow the general education curriculum for junior high school level issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, mainly focusing on the 9th grade curriculum. The exam questions must be accurate, clear, free from errors, and ensure an appropriate level of differentiation within the allotted time.
According to the plan, the first round of admissions and results announcement will be completed within 20 days of the exam results being available. Admissions will end when the enrollment quota is met or on the first day of the new school year, whichever comes first.
This year marks the first time the 10th grade entrance exam is being held according to the 2018 General Education Program. Prior to this, the Department of Education and Training announced the exam structure and sample questions at the beginning of January to facilitate the preparation process for students and schools.
The entrance exam for Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School will take place on June 6th. For the 2025-2026 academic year, the school plans to recruit 13 specialized classes, including the following subjects: Mathematics (2 classes), Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Literature, History, Geography, English, Japanese, Chinese, French, Russian, and Korean.
