In an increasingly competitive TV market, users' expectations of TV technology are gradually increasing.

Recently, brands have gradually shifted their focus to OLED or Mini LED TVs, promoting the high-end segment and super large screens. The AI integration trend also adds many smart features, helping to enhance the entertainment experience.

Understanding that need, some companies have combined high-end features, while still keeping the price reasonable to serve a variety of usage habits. These are popular trends when users consider buying a new TV.

Large screen

Recently, TV manufacturers have increasingly promoted large-sized models, sizes from 65 inches and up.

For example, the TCL C8K TV series comes in four sizes: 65 inches, 75 inches, 85 inches, and 98 inches. The large screen offers a near-cinema experience, suitable for large rooms.

Even in small rooms or sitting close together, large-screen TVs still provide an immersive entertainment experience. In addition, providing many size options helps serve many users such as young families, customers upgrading their TV after many years...

The barrier to large-size TVs is the high price. This is being overcome by companies offering reasonable, accessible prices, creating conditions for many people to easily access new technology.

Mini LED panel

Currently, many TV manufacturers use Mini LED panels to solve the problems of OLED, especially cost.

Compared to traditional LED TVs, Mini LEDs offer better brightness and color contrast. Industry experts predict that Chinese brands will ramp up production and promotion of Mini LED TVs in 2025.

“Chinese companies lead the standard LCD market, and are moving into the high-end segment, which is dominated by Japanese and Korean brands.

They improve profits by adjusting their product portfolio and expanding their presence in various regions by enhancing their brand image,” said analyst Lee Je-hyeok from research firm Counterpoint Research .

In its review, What-HiFi found that the TCL C8K model with Mini LED panel offers higher contrast and better control of light and dark areas than traditional LED technology.

With 3,840 local dimming zones, the C8K can reduce “blooming” – light spilling between dark and bright areas.

High brightness

TVs that are highly rated by the tech world are getting brighter and brighter. If you watch TV during the day in a room with many windows, you may be bothered by glare. Thanks to high brightness, the product can solve this problem.

Another benefit of high brightness is when watching videos or playing games with HDR content. This technology helps improve contrast and color, especially with special effects in movies.

Many HDR videos today have peak brightness of 1,000-2,000 nits. Some content is even 4,000 nits, even 10,000 nits. With models using Mini LED panels, peak brightness can reach 4,500 nits, which can display most HDR content with high quality in both bright and dark areas.

144 Hz refresh rate

Not only watching movies or TV shows, many people also have the need to play games on the big screen.

Recently, many brands have gradually increased the refresh rate on TVs to higher than 60 Hz. Some high-end models have a refresh rate of 144 Hz - a parameter commonly found on high-end TVs or dedicated gaming monitors.

This means the device can deliver a smooth visual experience when playing games on new generation consoles like PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X or PC.

The TV also supports VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) technology, which adjusts the refresh rate up to 288 Hz, reducing lag and tearing during gameplay.

Slim bezel design, smart features

Facing the minimalist trend in modern living spaces, the thin bezel design of high-end TV models creates a feeling of "borderless" images, helping to focus on the displayed content. This is especially useful when using TVs at close distances, in small apartments or enclosed spaces, where users tend to sit closer to the screen.

In addition to aesthetics, thin bezels also allow for maximum screen size relative to the overall chassis. For example, the 65-inch thin bezel version takes up the same area as the 60-inch model, optimizing space while still maintaining a clear visual experience.

Operating system, software and performance are not the top concerns, but they play an important role in the daily experience. In particular, the Google TV platform is highly appreciated for its intuitive interface and rich application store support.

Facing the AI trend, TCL C8K is equipped with many smart AI features, focusing on improving 4 factors: image quality, sound quality, interaction and content creation.

With Google Assistant, users can command the TV by voice via the remote. Meanwhile, AI Art mode turns the TV into a smart picture frame, displaying AI-generated art images.
