According to Yonhap, the North Korean central news agency (KCNA) reported on September 22nd that in a speech at a key parliamentary meeting held on September 20th and 21st, leader Kim Jong Un stated that Pyongyang is ready to negotiate with the United States if Washington abandons its demand for North Korean denuclearization.
Kim Jong Un emphasized that North Korea has no intention of giving up its nuclear weapons, saying that this is not a "bargaining chip."

"I assert that there will never be denuclearization for us," Kim said.
This statement comes after US President Donald Trump expressed hope of meeting the North Korean leader this year during a meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung last month.
Leader Kim Jong Un has made it clear that North Korea will never give up its nuclear weapons, but the country may sit down for negotiations with the US if Washington does not demand denuclearization as a condition for talks.
"Personally, I still have a good impression of US President Donald Trump," Kim Jong Un added.
This is reportedly the first time Kim Jong Un has commented directly on his relationship with President Trump.
Kim's statement comes amid speculation that President Trump may want a surprise meeting with Kim Jong Un, possibly at the truce village of Panmunjom, when he travels to South Korea for the upcoming Asia- Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.
Regarding South Korea, the North Korean leader stated that he would never sit down for negotiations with South Korea. He also threatened a nuclear attack on South Korea if North Korea failed to use nuclear weapons to deter war.
