According to Yonhap, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on September 22 that in a speech at an important meeting of the National Assembly held on September 20 and 21, leader Kim Jong Un said Pyongyang is ready to negotiate with the US if Washington abandons its demand for denuclearization of North Korea.
Kim Jong Un stressed that North Korea has no intention of giving up its nuclear weapons, saying they are not a "bargaining chip".

"I affirm that there will never be denuclearization for us," Mr. Kim said.
The remarks came after US President Donald Trump expressed hope to meet the North Korean leader this year during a meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung last month.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has made it clear that North Korea will never give up its nuclear weapons but could sit down for talks with the United States if Washington does not demand denuclearization as a condition for talks.
"Personally, I still have a good impression of US President Donald Trump," Kim Jong Un added.
It is known that this is the first time Mr. Kim Jong Un has commented directly on his relationship with President Trump.
Mr Kim's statement came amid speculation that President Trump may want to have a surprise meeting with Mr Kim Jong Un, possibly at the truce village of Panmunjom, when he arrives in South Korea for the upcoming Asia- Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.
Regarding South Korea, the North Korean leader said he would never sit down for talks with South Korea. He also threatened to launch a nuclear attack on South Korea if North Korea could not use nuclear weapons to deter war.
