The only waste treatment plant in the North of Dong Nai requests to increase capacity by 300%.

According to Mr. Hoa, the northern Dong Nai region currently has only one domestic waste treatment plant in Dong Xoai ward with a capacity of 100 tons/day. However, each day the plant has to receive 150-160 tons of domestic waste (from 2 wards of Binh Phuoc , Dong Xoai and Dong Phu commune). It is forecasted that by 2027, the amount of waste generated in these 3 wards and communes will increase to about 250 tons/day, exceeding the capacity granted in the investment license.

Due to limited capacity, while the amount of waste generated is large, there is a situation of waste congestion inside the factory and in wards and communes, which risks causing environmental pollution. Notably, the only existing waste treatment plant in the Northern region is no longer suitable for planning because it is located in an urban area, so it is very difficult to carry out related procedures to adjust capacity according to regulations.

Faced with the above reality, the enterprise has proposed to implement the new Tan Loi Centralized Waste Treatment Plant project to expand the scope of domestic waste treatment to 7 communes and 2 wards. However, the newly proposed project is still stuck in land procedures.

Therefore, to ensure the collection and treatment of waste in wards and communes in the northern part of the province, and at the same time to contribute to the management of domestic solid waste in the province, the enterprise proposed that the Provincial People's Committee approve the policy for Dong Xoai Waste Treatment Plant to receive and treat waste with a capacity of 300 tons/day, until 2030 or until the investment project for a new waste treatment plant in this area comes into operation.

When the Provincial People's Committee approves this policy, the company is responsible for continuing to invest in equipment to ensure the treatment of all received waste and to ensure the environment. When the province has a policy to relocate this waste treatment plant, the company commits to dismantling the equipment itself and not requesting compensation for investments in equipment for the increased capacity.
