SEA Games 31 champions compete in Hanoi Moi Newspaper table tennis tournament

Specifically, the top Vietnamese players competing in the tournament include Nguyen Duc Tuan (champion of the 31st SEA Games, runner-up of the 2024 National Championship), Nguyen Dang Hiep (bronze medal of the 2024 National Championship), Nguyen Duy Phong (champion of the 2024 Southeast Asian Table Tennis Championship's youth men's singles), Bui The Nghia (bronze medal of the 2024 National Championship's men's team), Vu Hoai Thanh (bronze medal of the 2024 National Championship's women's team), Dinh Anh Hoang, Le Dinh Duc, Le Tien Dat (Vietnam national table tennis team)... Therefore, the professional quality of the tournament is highly appreciated.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc, Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Moi Newspaper, shared at the opening ceremony: " Nearly 400 players from 68 units from provinces and cities participated in this year's tournament, an increase of about 30% compared to the previous season, affirming that the organization of the tournament increasingly meets the desire to enjoy eye-catching matches of table tennis fans as well as the need to compete and rub against the athletes."

The tournament had 400 professional and amateur players from 68 units nationwide, including units with strong development movements such as: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Lam Dong, Gia Lai, Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh , Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Da Nang...

The tournament includes 12 events: men's singles with leadership; advanced men's team; amateur men's team; advanced men's singles; amateur men's singles from 45 years old and above; amateur men's singles under 45 years old; women's singles from 45 years old and above; women's singles under 45 years old; men's doubles with leaders; men's doubles over 45 years old (regardless of rank); men's doubles under 45 years old (regardless of rank) and women's doubles over 45 years old (regardless of rank).

Nguyen Duc Tuan, the owner of the men's singles gold medal at SEA Games 31, also competed in this tournament.

The Organizing Committee will award trophies, flags, prizes, and medals to teams, pairs, and individuals who win first, second, third, and fourth prizes in each competition category. The total prize value is 150 million VND (an increase of more than 20% compared to the 2023 tournament). This is also a new feature of this year's tournament to increase the attractiveness and attract athletes to participate in the tournament.
