Multiple Resident Evil remakes are planned.

According to VGC , Capcom has confirmed that they are planning to release more remakes of the Resident Evil franchise in the future. Over the past 5 years, the game publisher has released 3 remakes of the Resident Evil game and achieved many commercial successes.

Accordingly, at an awards event in Japan on December 1, Resident Evil 4 remake director Yasuhiro Anpo was asked if Capcom wanted to add more remakes to the list.

The director confirmed that yes, he said: "So far we have released three remakes and they have all been very well received and we want to continue making more games".

The Resident Evil 2 remake was released in January 2019 and as of September this year, the game has sold 13.1 million copies, more than any other game in the series and also becoming Capcom's third best-selling game ever.

The Resident Evil 3 remake was later released in April 2020 and has sold 8 million copies. And the Resident Evil 4 remake was released in March this year, the game reached the sales milestone of over 5 million in the fastest time of any game in the series since Resident Evil 5 in 2009.

Earlier this week, Capcom also announced a release date for Dragon's Dogma 2, which will be March 22nd next year. Shortly after, the company began taking pre-orders for the title on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, making it the first game from the company to cost $70.
