Hue Festival - Culinary Capital is one of the highlight tourism activities, taking place during the April 30 - May 1 holiday, lasting 4 days from April 29 to May 2. With the chosen location being Thuong Bac Park (Hue City), the festival is expected to have 60 food stalls and attract more than 20,000 participants.
Hue Festival - Culinary Capital 2025 is carefully invested, becoming a notable activity within the framework of National Tourism Year and Hue Festival 2025. According to the representative of the Department of Tourism, in addition to art programs with the participation of many bands and young singers of Hue City, many special activities will serve people and tourists at the festival, such as: Displaying, introducing, selling culinary products at booths; 3D culinary exhibition using AR technology; culinary performances and experiences...
The cuisine displayed and introduced at the booths is also rich and diverse. In addition to the royal cuisine area, the organizers also arranged areas to display and introduce vegetarian cuisine, ethnic cuisine, folk cuisine, and street food.

One of the most anticipated activities is the culinary performance and experience. With the talented hands of artisans, the unique features of royal cuisine will be introduced to visitors through the performance and culinary experience - "Hue Royal Salt Rice"; fruit carving art exhibition "Quintessence of Royal Fruit Sculpture". Regional cultural exchange, with unique culinary features, also brings performances and experiences of folk cuisine from 3 regions.
According to the organizers, there will be culinary performances, from “Rice and Salt - the origin of folk to royal court”; fruit carving art “The Quintessence of Royal Fruit Carving”, “Van Cu - The Quintessence of Vermicelli Craft” or culinary performances from all over the world “The Quintessence of Ancient Quang Noodles”. “What makes it easy for many people to distinguish Hue royal culinary art from domestic and foreign cuisines is the beautiful sculptures on fruits and vegetables. A second difference is that the sculptures only follow two schools: One is simulating flowers, the other is animals representing the royal family, such as dragons, peacocks, phoenixes, unicorns, etc. The organizers plan to showcase a giant fruit and vegetable sculpture measuring 1.2m x 3m to display at the event”, the organizers added when introducing “The Quintessence of Royal Fruit Carving” that will take place during the festival.

Vietnam has a rich and attractive cuisine. In particular, when mentioning Vietnamese cuisine, many people immediately think of Hue cuisine. With two main lines: royal cuisine and folk cuisine, Hue cuisine has built its own brand. And, events such as Hue Festival - Culinary Capital are opportunities for Hue to tell its unique culinary story, spreading culinary values that are the quintessence of a long-standing and rich traditional culture.
Mr. Le Tan, Vice President of the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association, said that the uniqueness of Hue cuisine is not simply the feeling and enjoyment of the taste of the dish, but also the spiritual value hidden in each ingredient, spice, and recipe. Through culinary stories, Hue cuisine can be elevated and tourism promotion values can be promoted. Therefore, organizing culinary events well contributes to enhancing Vietnamese culinary culture in general and the cuisine of the ancient capital in particular.
In recent times, the tourism industry has focused on 3D digitalization of cuisine to preserve Hue's signature dishes on the 3D technology platform; at the same time, developing and promoting Hue's culinary culture to a large number of people at home and abroad. This culinary festival will have a culinary exhibition using 3D technology, with 3D images of dishes, information about their origins, and basic recipes, providing locals and visitors with a clearer, more interesting, and unique view of Hue cuisine.
The organizers also created opportunities for people and tourists to immerse themselves in the experience through interactive activities, check-in, create special moments in their own style at the photobooth (3D Logo) and post them on social networks, create a media effect for the program and receive culinary experience vouchers in the royal cuisine and folk cuisine areas. These activities also promote the role of people and tourists in spreading unique culinary culture.
Director of the Department of Tourism Tran Thi Hoai Tram said that the tourism industry of the Ancient Capital is focusing on building and effectively exploiting products and services revolving around typical brands, including the brand "Hue - Culinary Capital". Orientation within the framework of the Hue National Tourism Year - 2025, in addition to activities, events, products of the cultural industry, art programs, there are also performances, culinary experiences, chef competitions... Hue will also develop specific tourism products such as heritage tours, culinary tours, cultural experience tours... to help visitors explore more deeply about history, culture and create a different highlight compared to other destinations.
