Many meaningful activities in response to "Phu Quoc Environment Day"

On the morning of December 7, in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province, hundreds of officers and soldiers from agencies and units under the Naval Region 5 Command actively participated in responding to "Phu Quoc Environment Day" with many practical activities. This is a meaningful activity to propagate, educate, raise awareness and responsibility for environmental protection for officers, soldiers and people of all walks of life in the area.

Officers and soldiers of the Naval Region 5 Command, together with union members, youth, union officials, organizations, businesses, armed forces, students and local people, have cleaned up the environment, cleared bushes, trimmed trees that obscured visibility, cleaned roads, and removed illegal advertisements, classified ads and leaflets that spoiled the urban landscape.

The forces also coordinated to organize propaganda and mobilize people to properly sort waste at home and at work, not to discharge wastewater and waste improperly, and to limit the use of plastic bags and single-use plastic products to protect the environment and public health.

Colonel Tang Ngoc Thach, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Naval Region 5 Command, shared: “Responding to “Phu Quoc Environment Day” is both a responsibility and an emotion, demonstrating the vanguard spirit and community spirit of the officers and soldiers of Naval Region 5 towards the “Pearl Island”, where the unit is located. Each officer and soldier of Region 5 always wishes to contribute a small part to make Phu Quoc more and more stable and develop with a clean natural environment.”

This is a meaningful activity to propagate, educate , raise awareness and responsibility for environmental protection for officers, soldiers and people of all walks of life in the area; create a green, clean and beautiful landscape on the island, contributing to improving the quality of life and attracting tourists to the locality.
