Chu Van An High School reduced the admission scores for 4 specialized classes: math, physics, information technology, and English. The French bilingual class and the baccalaureate bilingual class also have additional admission scores of 40 and 34.85 points, respectively.
For the regular system , Minh Quang High School lowered the score from 18 to 15 points for students who have registered their wishes to enter the school. In addition, the school is recruiting students from the whole city with scores from 17 and above.
This is the sum of three subjects Math, Literature, English, in which Math and Literature are multiplied by a coefficient of 2, maximum 50 points. Thus, students only need to achieve an average of 3-3.4 points per subject to be admitted to the school.
Another school that has city-wide enrollment is Doan Ket - Hai Ba Trung High School. The minimum score is 25.75 - 2 points higher than the first round. This school surprised everyone this year when the initial enrollment decreased by more than 16 points compared to last year.
In Hai Phong , after the first announcement of benchmark scores on July 3, high schools in Hai Phong adjusted benchmark scores in the additional admission round on July 12.
Accordingly, the second grade 10 entrance exam scoreboard has many changes compared to the first list. According to statistics, up to 37/39 schools changed their scoreboards in the second admission round. In general, the scores of all schools decreased slightly by about 0.25 points. In Phu Tho , the Department of Education and Training of this province has just announced the adjustment of admission scores for grade 10 in the 2024-2025 school year at 20 high schools.
Along with the admission score, candidates need to ensure additional conditions regarding the average score of all subjects in the entire 9th grade year, the average score of all subjects in the 9th grade year in math, literature and English.
Admission scores with conditions as follows:

The Department requires the Admissions Council to check the application documents to ensure they are complete and accurate. In case the student is not of the right age, not from the right location, not the right target for the unit, or does not submit the application documents, or the application documents do not comply with the regulations, they will not be included in the list of approved candidates.
The Admissions Council of each unit is responsible for notifying and clearly explaining to students and parents about cases that do not meet the admission requirements.
Along with that, in order to create learning conditions for students, the Department of Education and Training allows some units such as private high schools, private general schools (with high school level), vocational education centers, and provincial continuing education centers that have not recruited enough students compared to the assigned quota.
The People's Committee of Ha Tinh province has also just issued a document agreeing on the policy of adjusting the admission rate to grade 10 public high schools for the 2024-2025 school year from 70% to 74%. Thus, the opportunity to enter grade 10 public schools will be more open to candidates, which means the benchmark score will decrease. It is expected that the benchmark score for the Ha Tinh Grade 10 High School Entrance Exam will also be announced in July 2024.

In Ho Chi Minh City , the Department of Education and Training is also synthesizing proposals from schools to set additional enrollment targets for grade 10 next school year.
According to the department, depending on the actual application situation at high schools, the Department of Education and Training will decide on additional enrollment and issue written instructions to ensure the rights of candidates with high exam scores and on the basis of recruiting enough enrollment quotas for schools that are still lacking many quotas.
However, unlike many provinces and cities, Ho Chi Minh City has a policy of not lowering the standard score but only recruiting additional students.
Ho Tan Minh, Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the criteria for registering for additional admission are candidates who do not pass all three wishes. At the same time, candidates must have an entrance exam score higher than or equal to the standard score of the third wish of the school they are applying for, not having to lower the standard score.
"Candidates must ensure both of the above conditions at the same time. Candidates who refuse to enroll in their desired schools will not be allowed to register for additional admission," Mr. Minh emphasized.
A few days ago, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City also announced additional enrollment quotas for integrated grade 10 for the 2024-2025 school year in 9 high schools.
