According to a VNA correspondent in Seoul, on May 25, Big Hit Music announced that the festival celebrating the 10th anniversary of BTS's debut, titled "2023 BTS Festa," will be held throughout Seoul from June 12-25.
"2023 BTS Festa" is an annual festival that BTS holds with Army (the name for the group's fans) to celebrate the group's debut anniversary. This year's festival, organized in collaboration with the Seoul city government, has the slogan "BTS Presents Everywhere".
This year also marks the 10th anniversary of BTS's debut, so even though two members (Jin and j-hope) are currently serving their military service, numerous different events are expected to be held at major tourist attractions in downtown Seoul.
From June 12th to 25th, Sebit Island, Namsan Tower in Seoul, City Hall, Dongdaemun Design Plaza, the World Cup Bridge, and other locations will be painted purple, the traditional color of BTS. Numerous activities and entertainment programs will also be held to celebrate the group's debut anniversary. Previously, with consultation and permission from local authorities, BTS also painted purple the locations where they held concerts, such as Los Angeles (LA), Las Vegas, and Busan.
In particular, on June 17th, the main event of "2023 BTS Festa" will be held at Han River Park in Yeouido, where fans and locals can come together to enjoy the festive atmosphere.
BTS is a seven-member boy group (RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, Jung Kook) that debuted on June 13, 2013, as a hip-hop group and gained popularity through their music with heartwarming messages, amazing performances, and incredibly friendly interactions.
With "Dynamite," BTS became the first Korean artist to enter Billboard's main singles chart, the 'Billboard Hot 100,' and since then, the group has achieved increasing success and become a global phenomenon with a string of hits such as "Life Goes On," "Butler," and "Permission to Dance."
To celebrate their 10th anniversary, BTS will also publish a memoir titled "More Than a Story: A Record of 10 Years of BTS" in South Korea and the United States in 2023. Prior to that, on May 22nd, a commemorative stamp set celebrating BTS's 10th anniversary went on pre-sale in South Korea via online ordering; international customers can order them on the Korea Post website starting June 1st.
