September and October are the most beautiful months in the Northwest and Northeast, when the weather turns to autumn, the air is cool, the sun is gentle and the hills are covered in the golden color of ripe rice. This autumn marks the first time photographer and travel blogger Ngo Tran Hai An (Quy Coc Tu) has returned to Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Ha Giang... in 5 years. He calls these the roads that "steal youth" and every time he goes, it "fascinates his mind". From Mu Cang Chai, Yen Bai, Hai An traveled by motorbike through O Quy Ho Pass to find the border land of Si Ma Cai, Lao Cai with its sky-high terraced fields. “After 5 years, the Northwest is both familiar and fascinating. The journey was quick but truly a beautiful pilgrimage to the land of memories,” Hai An confided. Mu Cang Chai, Yen Bai in the ripe rice season is truly a brilliant golden masterpiece stretching across winding terraced fields. Its beauty is even more captivating when passing through the peaceful, rustic village of Che Cu Nha with its stilt houses hidden among the golden sea and the majestic La Pan Tan, where vast terraced fields stretch high to the sky. “Small raspberry” fields in Mu Cang Chai in the morning sun. The terraced fields here are like steps to the sky, extending the colors of green and yellow in the early morning sun. After many years of traveling to many beautiful destinations abroad, Mr. Hai An is still overwhelmed by the beauty of the Northwest in autumn. “Standing in the middle of the vast terraced fields, one can feel the majestic natural beauty and the talent of the people here. Mu Cang Chai in the ripe rice season, a captivating beauty, so unforgettable.” Stepping into the land of Ha Giang, the old memories of a veteran backpacker rushed back. From the once difficult Nan Ma road now paved, the Xin Man terraced fields hanging on the rocky slopes, the Nho Que River in the deep valley, continuing the discovery are the villages in Hoang Su Phi as beautiful as masterpieces. The terraced fields curve like shimmering golden silk strips stretching across the hillsides. “The golden autumn sunshine, the ripe rice grains, and the gentle fragrance. Dotted among the golden picture are the small, pretty roofs of ethnic people, creating a peaceful, poetic scene. The sound of the babbling stream blends with the cheerful laughter of the people harvesting the rice, creating a vibrant golden season symphony,” Hai An was overwhelmed with emotion when returning to Ha Giang during the rice harvest season. The blue smoke of the afternoon blends with the clouds surrounding the high mountains, creating a scene that leaves visitors forever in awe. Not only beautifying the mountainous landscape in September and October, ripe rice flowers waiting for harvest season are also the beauty of prosperity and bountiful harvest.
