Impressive achievements at the Aqua Warriors Van Don 2024 tournament

The Aqua Warriors Van Don 2024 Marathon (swimming and running) in Van Don (Quang Ninh) is an event expected to follow Aqua Warriors Ha Long, promoting the increasingly popular trend of Aquathlon (a sport combining swimming and running) in the Vietnamese sports community, contributing to the development of the mass sports movement.

With enthusiasm and passion for sports, more than 1,200 athletes from all over the country participated in Aqua Warriors Van Don 2024, creating a vibrant and bustling atmosphere. After more than 6 hours of competition in both swimming and marathon events, 100% of athletes successfully completed the previously registered distances.

Most notably, in the Ultra Aqua Warriors distance (5km swimming and 21km running) for women, athlete Nguyen Thi Kim Cuong excellently completed the competition with a time of 3 hours 23 minutes 03 seconds to represent the Athletes' Delegation of the People's Police Sports Association to step onto the highest podium.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Major General Le Xuan Duc said: "For the first time, the Vietnam Public Security Sports Association has a team competing in an athletics tournament. According to the direction of the Ministry of Public Security's leadership, it is necessary to bring the sports movement to all people and to the general movement of society, thereby discovering talents to maximize their capacity.

Being able to participate in a tournament with the participation of a large number of people is the happiness of the People's Public Security Forces in general and the Vietnam People's Public Security Sports Association in particular. This is also an opportunity for each officer and soldier of the People's Public Security Forces to practice health to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party and the people, ensuring order, safety and security as well as protecting the Fatherland."

At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee also awarded First, Second, Third prizes to male, female, male doubles, female doubles and team prizes in the following distances: 5km Swim - 21km Run; 3km Swim - 15km Run; 3km Swim - 15km Run; 1.5km Swim - 10km Run; 750m Swim - 5km Run; 300m Swim - 3km Run; 150m Swim - 1km Run and outstanding athletes by age group.
