Big explosion near a bank transaction office

(NLDO) - A large explosion caused the glass of a bank transaction office and many houses in Pleiku City, Gia Lai Province to break.

At 2:00 p.m. on March 1, an explosion occurred next to a house in alley 124, Le Duan Street, Group 5, Phu Dong Ward, Pleiku City, Gia Lai Province.

Authorities proceeded to block off the scene.

Initially, authorities have not recorded any human damage. However, the explosion caused damage to some surrounding houses.

In addition, many glass panels of the Phu Dong Transaction Office, Gia Lai Investment and Development Bank ( BIDV ) were broken, glass pieces were scattered everywhere.

According to local residents, the explosion originated from a landfill in the area. Before the explosion occurred, a fire broke out at the landfill.

After the incident, authorities blocked off the scene, preventing people from passing through the area until authorities determined it was safe.

Many glass panels of Phu Dong Transaction Office, BIDV Bank in Gia Lai were damaged.

Currently, professional units of Gia Lai Provincial Police are urgently clarifying the cause of the incident.
