River water in Hue exceeds 2020 peak, police brave rain to help people 'escape the flood'

The rising river water caused many areas downstream and the central urban area of Hue City to be submerged in water. Floodwaters rose rapidly, Hue City Police mobilized maximum force and machinery to brave the rain to support people in responding to natural disasters.

Police and security forces used boats to row across flooded streets to help people in central wards of Hue City "escape the flood" or provide food, supplies and drinking water.

While on duty, discovering that a fruit stall at Dong Ba market was deeply submerged in water, the Traffic Police of Hue City Police immediately went down to assist the traders in loading the fruit boxes onto cars and taking them to a safe place.

On the roads, the Traffic Police of Hue City Police arranged teams on duty and used specialized vehicles to help people cross deeply flooded areas.

Many people in low-lying areas of Hue City could not evacuate in time because the floodwaters rose too quickly. Police used boats and canoes to take them to safety.

According to the forecast of the Hue City Hydrometeorological Station, from the morning of October 27 to October 29, there will continue to be heavy rain, very heavy rain, especially heavy rain in mountainous areas. The total rainfall is generally 250-500mm, in some places over 700mm. The water level on rivers in the city is forecast to rise, Huong River, Bo River is above alert level III, the flood situation is still complicated.
