Mr. Tran Sy Thanh was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the 13th Central Inspection Commission.

According to the announcement of the Party Central Committee Office, the Central Executive Committee elected Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, to join the Central Inspection Committee and hold the position of Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee.

On the morning of November 5, the 14th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee opened in Hanoi .

1. In the morning, the Party Central Committee worked at the Conference Hall. General Secretary To Lam delivered the opening speech. Mr. Luong Cuong, Politburo member and President, chaired the Conference on behalf of the Politburo.

The Central Committee carries out the process of introducing personnel to join the Politburo and Secretariat of the 14th term (both re-election and first-time participation).

2. In the afternoon, the Central Committee continued to carry out the contents of personnel work:

1) Agreed to let Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Chairman of the 13th Central Inspection Committee, stop participating in the Central Inspection Committee, stop holding the position of Chairman of the 13th Central Inspection Committee (to focus on the new tasks assigned by the Politburo).

(2) Carry out the process of introducing personnel for a number of positions: Vice Chairman of the 15th National Assembly, Chairman of the 13th Central Inspection Committee and Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court for the 2021-2026 term so that the Politburo can decide to introduce the Party Central Committee to elect the Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee and the 10th Session of the 15th National Assembly to elect according to regulations.

(3) Elect Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee to join the Central Inspection Committee and hold the position of Chairman of the 13th Central Inspection Committee.

(4) Introducing the personnel of the Presidium, Secretariat, and Qualification Examination Board of the 14th National Congress of the Party.

Then, the Central Committee and delegates attending the Conference worked in groups to discuss the following contents:

(1) Draft Report reviewing the leadership and direction of the 13th Party Central Committee to be submitted to the 14th National Congress.

(2) Draft Report summarizing the implementation of the Working Regulations of the 13th Central Executive Committee, Politburo and Secretariat.

(3) Draft Report summarizing the implementation of the Working Regulations of the 13th Central Inspection Committee.

(4) Report summarizing the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, dated October 25, 2017 of the 12th Party Central Committee on a number of issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently.
