Mr. Trieu The Hung ceased to hold the position of Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee.

On the morning of August 12, at the Eastern Cultural Center, the 17th Hai Duong Provincial People's Council opened its 24th session (special session).

At the meeting, the Hai Duong Provincial People's Council passed resolutions confirming the results of the dismissal of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the termination of the duties of the Provincial People's Council delegate for the 17th term, 2021-2026, for Mr. Trieu The Hung due to job transfer.

Previously, on July 24, the National Assembly Standing Committee approved Mr. Trieu The Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province, to hold the position of Deputy Chairman of the Culture and Education Committee of the 15th National Assembly from August 1.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Trieu The Hung sincerely thanked the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and departments, branches, and localities in the province for always trusting and accompanying him in carrying out his tasks over the past years.

Mr. Hung said he was honored to be transferred to work in Hai Duong on May 10, 2020, a land of talented people and rich historical traditions.

The former Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee shared that the more than 4 years working in Hai Duong province left a very deep impression in his heart with memories of the land and people of Dong Hai Duong.

Mr. Hung emphasized that Hai Duong has achieved many positive results in implementing the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025, despite the intertwined favorable and challenging context, especially the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

As Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Trieu The Hung said he always devoted himself to contributing to the overall development of the province, but there were still goals and plans that had not been completed.

Mr. Hung hopes to continue to receive the sharing, support and cooperation of provincial leaders, leaders of departments, branches and localities in the province so that he can promote the experience gained during his time working in Hai Duong and successfully complete his tasks in his new position.

Speaking to congratulate Mr. Trieu The Hung on his new assignment, Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang said that in more than 4 years working in Hai Duong province, Mr. Hung has made continuous efforts and successfully completed the assigned tasks. Mr. Hung has performed well as a cadre and party member, clearly demonstrating his qualities and working capacity.

On behalf of the leaders of Hai Duong province, Mr. Tran Duc Thang respectfully thanked Mr. Trieu The Hung for his contributions to Hai Duong province. At the same time, the Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee wished him continued success in his new position and continued attention and support for the development of Hai Duong.

Mr. Trieu The Hung was born in 1971, in Tan Trieu commune, Thanh Tri district, Hanoi. He is an Associate Professor, Doctor of Cultural Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts and Culture Pedagogy.

Before being approved to hold the new position, Mr. Hung was Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province. He was also a delegate to the 14th and 15th National Assembly and a member of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Education.

Mr. Hung has a long history of working at the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Education. When he was first introduced by the Central Committee to run for the 14th National Assembly of Vietnam in May 2016, he was holding the position of Director of the Department of Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children, Office of the National Assembly.

From 2009-2016, he was Secretary of the Committee for Culture - Education - Youth - Adolescents - Children (now the Committee for Culture - Education) of the National Assembly.

In 2016, he was elected as a delegate to the 14th National Assembly of Lam Dong province and held the position of Standing Member of the Committee on Culture - Education - Youth - Adolescents - Children (now the Committee on Culture - Education) of the National Assembly, then appointed as Vice Chairman of the Committee.

Mr. Trieu The Hung was mobilized and appointed by the Secretariat as Deputy Secretary of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term from mid-2020. One year later, he was elected Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee.
