Pfizer and VNVC sign memorandum of understanding to promote knowledge sharing in vaccine production in Vietnam

On March 18, in Ho Chi Minh City, Pfizer Vietnam Company Limited (Pfizer VN) and Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company (VNVC) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote knowledge sharing in vaccine production in Vietnam. This cooperation underscores the commitment of both parties to enhance the healthcare ecosystem in Vietnam, by leveraging their strengths and expertise.

The primary objective of this Memorandum of Understanding is to establish a framework for good-faith cooperation between Pfizer Vietnam and VNVC to support VNVC in enhancing its capacity to establish a vaccine manufacturing facility. The cooperation will focus on knowledge sharing and facilitating the development of shared capabilities in vaccine production. Through this collaboration, Pfizer Vietnam will organize knowledge-sharing sessions, while VNVC will seek to advance its goal of establishing a modern vaccine manufacturing facility.

Mr. Ngo Chi Dung, Chairman and CEO of VNVC, emphasized: "The cooperation and knowledge sharing with Pfizer marks an important step for VNVC and Vietnam in accessing world-leading vaccine manufacturing expertise. This will help support proactive solutions to protect public health against dangerous infectious diseases. This cooperation opens opportunities for VNVC to learn from Pfizer's modern vaccine manufacturing expertise, thereby promoting the ability to produce high-quality vaccines using advanced technology. This will allow us to proactively supply vaccines to the Vietnamese people, reduce dependence on imported products, and lower costs, making high-quality vaccines more accessible to the Vietnamese people. This effort not only brings effective disease prevention for individuals and the community but also aligns with General Secretary To Lam's directive to the health sector to improve preventive healthcare, vaccination, and reduce the burden on the treatment system."
