"Simply put, the difference in class between the two teams was too great. The Vietnamese women's team was either too strong or Indonesia was too weak. The score says it all," Aziz Ziza from Myanmar expressed on the Asean Football page after the Indonesian women's team lost to Vietnam in the second match of Group A of the AFF Cup 2025, held at Lach Tray Stadium ( Hai Phong ) on the evening of August 9th.

Despite fielding a less-than-optimal lineup, the Vietnamese women's team exerted immense pressure on the Indonesian team's goal and opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a shot from Bich Thuy. Just three minutes later, Hoang Thi Loan extended Vietnam's lead to two goals.
However, it wasn't until the second half that the Vietnamese women's team unleashed a barrage of goals against Indonesia, scoring 5 goals in just the last 20 minutes of the match. The resounding 7-0 victory over Indonesia secured Vietnam's place in the semi-finals, even though their final match against Thailand is still scheduled for August 12th.
"The Vietnamese women's team is truly on a completely different level compared to Indonesia. It's also difficult to expect much when Indonesia doesn't have a national women's league. The Vietnamese women's team has many stars who have participated in the World Cup, so their victory was predictable," commented My Tzuyu from the Philippines.

"Indonesian women's football is really weak compared to other countries in Southeast Asia, especially since they don't have a women's league. Nevertheless, their team tried their best," commented Luck, a user from Singapore.
"Congratulations to the Vietnamese women's team. You deserve to be strong contenders for the championship," commented Saini Saini from Thailand, praising the victory of Coach Mai Duc Chung's team.
"They naturalized three players from the Netherlands, and in just two matches they conceded 14 goals and scored none. As Indonesians, we also feel ashamed," shared Aditya Radit from Indonesia.
"Losing to Thailand and Vietnam is nothing to be ashamed of because they are too strong. Anyway, we must try to win against the Cambodian women's team in the final group stage match. That's the most reasonable goal," concluded Indonesian user Irawan.
