The Farmers' Association of Bac Yen commune has 2,739 members, operating in 27 branches. Mr. Mua A Chong, Chairman of the Farmers' Association, shared: We identify agricultural restructuring as not only changing crops and livestock, but more importantly, changing production thinking. The Association focuses on supporting farmers with capital, technology, and linking product consumption, aiming at developing sustainable, commodity agriculture.

Since the beginning of the year, the Association has coordinated to open training courses on organic farming techniques, biosafety livestock farming, and environmental protection for 67 members. To create conditions for members to develop production, the Association has been entrusted with the Social Policy Bank to create conditions for 750 member households to borrow preferential loans to develop production and business, with a total outstanding loan of 42 billion VND; effectively using the Farmer Support Fund, helping 15 member households invest in building commodity-oriented crop and livestock models. From the loan capital, many members have boldly transformed their production models, bringing in stable income. The whole commune currently has 51 farmer households with good production and business at the provincial level and 499 households at the commune level.

The family of Mr. Hang A Lanh, a member of Suoi Hao village, previously only knew how to grow corn and cassava. After many years, the soil became infertile and the economic efficiency was low. Thanks to the Farmers' Association, he participated in training courses on cultivation and animal husbandry techniques and received loans, and switched to growing gac fruit, bringing in a stable income. Mr. Lanh shared: Gac trees are suitable for the climate here, easy to grow, have few pests and diseases, and have a stable output. Each year, the family harvests about 5 tons of fruit, after deducting expenses, earning a profit of nearly 100 million VND. Thanks to that, the family has the conditions to continue investing in expanding the planting area.

In the livestock sector, many members have boldly invested on a large scale, aiming for sustainable development. A typical example is member Giang A Gang, formerly from Hong Ngai village, who only raised a few local pigs mainly for family needs. In 2023, the Farmers' Association mobilized him to join a livestock cooperative and received support in loans and guidance on biosafety farming techniques. Mr. Gang shared: From the initial 30 pigs, his family has now expanded the herd to 150. Each year, the income is more than 350 million VND. The Association also connects with traders to buy on-site, so we can feel secure in production and not worry about output.

In the period of 2025-2030, the Farmers' Association of Bac Yen commune will continue to innovate the content and methods of operation, improve the capacity of association officials, promote digital transformation in agricultural production, help members apply science and technology , increase productivity and product quality. Continue to promote the role of a bridge to help members access support policies, apply technical advances to production, build organic, modern and effective agricultural models.

From the lush green gac fields in Suoi Hao to the hundreds of pigsty in Hong Ngai, all are contributing to creating a new look for Bac Yen commune's agriculture, more productive, efficient and sustainable.
