Developing Thanh Hoa literature and art in the new era

In the current period, with the explosion of information technology, non-traditional challenges along with the strong development of the digital economy and the knowledge economy are posing new problems. This is both an opportunity and a challenge for the development of the homeland and the country in general and the development of culture, literature and art (VHNT) in particular. That requires VHNT to have a strong transformation, not only to adapt but also to continue to develop, affirming its role and mission on the cultural and ideological front.

Comrade Dau Thanh Tung, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, awarded Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee Chairman to the authors who won the A prize - Le Thanh Tong Literature and Arts Award for the period 2016-2021.

Throughout the journey of more than 50 years of construction and development, the leadership team and numerous members of the Thanh Hoa Literature and Arts Association have constantly strived to build a strong, united organization, constantly creating quality works, leaving an impression on the public, contributing a fertile alluvial branch to the flow of literature and arts of the country.

From 92 members, operating in 9 specialized committees in the early days of its establishment, up to now, Thanh Hoa Literature and Arts Association has continuously grown with nearly 500 members, operating in 11 specialized committees. This place has truly become a "common roof", a place to nurture and give wings to generations of artists to freely soar in the creative sky.

In recent times, with the attention and facilitation of all levels and sectors, the association has successfully organized and coordinated 25 creative camps in various fields and specialties, attracting more than 500 artists to participate. Along with that, the association has organized dozens of literary and artistic composition competitions; organized hundreds of field trips to localities in the province; organized and introduced members to attend training courses, theoretical training, creative skills in and outside the province...

In particular, in recent times, with the attention and facilitation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee, the value of the annual Literature and Arts Award, Le Thanh Tong Literature and Arts (5 years); and the annual investment value in literature and arts creation for members have all been increased. 2024 is the first year Thanh Hoa organized the Le Thanh Tong Literature and Arts Award, period 2016-2021 for 39 works by 36 authors and 3 co-authors with the highest reward (special prize) of 100 million VND. This is truly a great source of encouragement and motivation for the province's artists. At the same time, it demonstrates the deep concern of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee for the development of literature and arts in the spirit of Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW dated June 16, 2008 of the Politburo (10th tenure); Resolution No. 17-NQ/TU, dated July 4, 2024 of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee on continuing to build and develop Thanh Hoa culture and people in the new period...

With its persistent efforts and dedication, the Thanh Hoa Literature and Arts Association was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal by the President ; many artists were awarded noble titles, including 9 People's Artists and 8 authors were honored to receive the State Prize for Literature and Arts.

Our country is entering an era of growth. All areas of activity must promote the spirit of innovation and creativity to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation. Along with the whole country, Thanh Hoa Literature and Arts Association is clearly aware of its role, mission, opportunities and challenges. Implementing the direction of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, Thanh Hoa Literature and Arts Association issued Official Dispatch No. 124/CV-VHNT dated August 14, 2025 advising on the organization of Thanh Hoa Literature and Arts Association. It affirmed that: Thanh Hoa Literature and Arts Association plays an important role in implementing the Party's cultural and artistic guidelines and policies, bringing major cultural policies deeply into people's lives through rich and moving art forms.

Thanh Hoa Literature and Arts Association contributes to building and developing the spiritual and cultural life in the province, while preserving and promoting the values ​​and cultural identity of Thanh Hoa. On the ideological and aesthetic front, the association actively participates in social criticism, resolutely fights against cultural and artistic deviations, and contributes to protecting the Party's ideological foundation.

At the same time, the association continues to organize and manage creative activities, promotion, publishing, training, awarding and cultural and artistic exchanges within and outside the province. Thereby affirming the special position and role of the association's activities in the cultural and artistic life and the general development of the province.

“The Association of Literature and Arts has its own characteristics, clearly different from other professional associations on all four basic axes, which are: Functions, objects, forms of operation and objectives. Therefore, when implementing the organization of the association, it is necessary to carefully consider the characteristics and differences on those four basic axes to maximize the role and effectiveness of its activities” - Vice President of the Thanh Hoa Association of Literature and Arts, Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Hoa Literature and Arts Magazine Thy Lan said.

Important issues need to be discussed thoroughly, but there are certain things that will never change. That is the spirit of effort and struggle of the Thanh artists to create works of value in both content and art, imbued with the spirit of humanity, democracy, and the breath of the times. These works not only meet the increasingly high and diverse cultural enjoyment needs of the people, but also preserve and promote the values ​​of national literature and art and selectively absorb the values ​​of humanity, science, and progress of humanity in the globalization trend. Actively contributing to the socio-economic development, building new people, preserving and promoting the identity, culture, and people of Thanh.
