On October 24, about 20,000 people attended the campaign of Democratic candidate, US Vice President Kamala Harris in Clarkston, Georgia.

The campaign was organized with less than 2 weeks to go before the US presidential election. Ms. Harris is trying to take advantage of the fame of celebrities to attract voters in swing states.
The event featured former President Barack Obama, along with influential figures such as rock legend Bruce Springsteen and director Tyler Perry.
At the event, Ms. Harris emphasized her commitment to fighting inflation and focusing on plans to reduce the cost of living. With this policy, she hopes to win the trust of voters of color - an important group of voters in the battleground state of Georgia.
For his part, former President Obama specifically emphasized Vice President Harris's close background, including her part-time job at McDonald's during college, as a way to contrast with the wealth of Republican candidate Donal Trump.
According to The New York Times , the 44th boss of the White House sought to transfer the energy of his political movement to Ms. Harris: “Together, we have the opportunity to choose a new generation of leaders for this country and begin to build an America that is better, stronger, fairer and more hopeful.”
This is also the first time Ms. Harris has appeared on the campaign trail with former President Barack Obama. She is expected to appear with former First Lady Michelle Obama on October 26 in Michigan, one of seven important battleground states that could influence the election results.
Vice President Harris's rally in Clarkston reflects the importance of African American voters in Georgia. Her campaign is pushing a high-profile presence in the run-up days, with appearances from actor Samuel L Jackson and directors Spike Lee and Tyler Perry helping to warm up the crowd.
Republican candidate Donald Trump is still leading his Democratic rival Harris in polls in Georgia, where about 2.2 million voters have cast early ballots.
In the 2020 election, incumbent US President Joe Biden and Vice President Harris won Georgia, creating the first victory for the Democratic Party in this Southern state since former President Bill Clinton did so in 1992.
Harris' campaign team hopes the politician can keep the state blue (symbol of the Democratic Party) in this year's election.
On the same day, AFP news agency quoted European Council President Charles Michel assessing the two US presidential candidates, admitting that there are differences between Mr. Trump and Ms. Harris, but he also questioned whether their approaches would lead to different results for the European Union (EU) in the long term.
According to Mr. Michel, whoever wins the US presidential election will still maintain protectionist policies and what the EU needs is to focus on its own direction, instead of being influenced by the election results of other countries.
While the EU is dealing with ongoing challenges, particularly in the context of the conflict in Ukraine, Mr. Michel said the US stance has further complicated the economic partnership.
