On the morning of October 25th, Le Thanh Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Standing Committee of the An Phu Commune Party Committee, led a delegation from the Commune Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to visit and encourage households whose houses collapsed due to landslides in Vinh Hoi hamlet.

During the visit, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the An Phu Commune Party Committee, Le Thanh Phuong, cordially inquired about the well-being of the families, provided financial assistance, and encouraged them to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives as soon as possible. He also requested the Commune People's Committee to continue monitoring the situation, promptly relocate residents from areas at risk of landslides to ensure the safety of people's lives and property, and urgently implement appropriate landslide prevention and control measures in areas at risk of further expansion.

Earlier, at around 7 PM on October 24th, heavy rain and strong thunderstorms occurred in An Phu commune, seriously affecting the area along the Chau Doc river. Due to rising floodwaters and weak soil, cracks approximately 15 meters long appeared at the base of the road embankment, posing a high risk of landslides.

At 7:30 PM on the same day, a landslide occurred on the Chau Doc riverbank in Vinh Hoi hamlet, causing two houses belonging to local residents to completely collapse into the river. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

Immediately after the incident occurred, the Party Committee and the People's Committee of An Phu commune directed relevant departments and mobilized militia, police, and border guards to quickly arrive at the scene to support the hamlet committee and the people in rescue efforts, khắc phục hậu quả (mitigating the consequences), and stabilizing the situation.
