Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha inspected and directed flood response work in Da Nang.

DNO - On the afternoon of October 29, in the context of prolonged heavy rain causing widespread flooding, seriously affecting the lives and activities of people in Da Nang city, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha directly inspected and directed the response, rescue and recovery work of the flood.

Also attending were Party Central Committee member, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Le Ngoc Quang; Lieutenant General Le Ngoc Hai, Commander of Military Region 5; leaders of central ministries and branches; Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee Pham Duc An.

The working group inspected the area of ​​An Tay Ancient Quarter, Dien Ban Dong Ward - where 44 households are currently deeply flooded, many households are completely isolated due to rising floodwaters.

Here, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and City Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang kindly visited the health and living conditions of some flooded households; presented gifts and encouraged people to overcome difficulties and ensure safety of life and property.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requested the city government and functional forces to urgently review and always have vehicles and human resources ready to be on duty 24/7 to support people.

At the same time, note that people must not be left without food, water and essential necessities.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested Military Region 5 and armed forces stationed in the city to closely coordinate with local authorities, mobilize maximum forces and means to support rescue work, repair traffic infrastructure and soon stabilize people's lives after floods.

On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and his delegation directly surveyed serious landslides along the coastal area of ​​Hoi An Tay ward.

Here, the delegation inspected the scene and listened to detailed reports from local leaders about the landslide situation, response work, as well as the difficulties and damages that people are facing.

After assessing the situation, the Deputy Prime Minister assessed that the landslide situation in this area is complicated, posing a direct threat to the lives of coastal residents, affecting traffic infrastructure and nearby civil works.

Therefore, Da Nang city needs to urgently review, conduct comprehensive research, and select feasible technical and construction solutions to overcome the landslide situation in a sustainable manner, while ensuring safety for people and protecting the landscape and environment of the area.
