Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang asked Mr. Saurin Shah to actively seek opportunities to exploit the potential for economic , trade and investment cooperation between India and Vietnam.

On the occasion of attending the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (January 9-12), Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang received Mr. Saurin Shah, Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Gujarat state.

Congratulating Mr. Saurin Shah on being appointed as Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Gujarat from November 2022, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that this demonstrates Vietnam's respect and desire to further promote relations with India in general and Gujarat state in particular.

Appreciating Mr. Saurin Shah's contributions in promoting cooperation between Gujarat state of India and Vietnam, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed his belief that Mr. Saurin Shah, with his capacity and commitment to Vietnam, will continue to fulfill his duties well, contributing to strengthening the friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

Assessing Gujarat as an important industrial and commercial center with great potential for cooperation with Vietnamese localities in various fields, including seaports, pharmaceuticals, etc., the Deputy Prime Minister asked Mr. Saurin Shah to actively seek opportunities to exploit the potential for economic, trade and investment cooperation between India and Vietnam in general and Gujarat in particular.

Mr. Saurin Shah expressed his honor and pride at being appointed as Honorary Consul; pledged to do his best to carry out the task of representing the interests of Vietnamese people and businesses in Gujarat state, while strongly promoting two-way trade, investment and tourism cooperation, contributing to enhancing exchanges and mutual understanding between the people of the two countries.

Noting that many large Indian enterprises are currently interested in exploring investment in Vietnam, including Adani, a large, prestigious corporation headquartered in Gujarat state, Mr. Saurin Shah suggested that Vietnam facilitate entry visa procedures to promote tourism and trade, taking advantage of the frequency of 14 direct flights between Gujarat state and major cities in Vietnam at present.
