On the morning of January 15, in Hanoi, the Central Steering Committee 35 held a conference to review the work in 2024 and deploy key tasks in 2025.

Member of the Politburo, Standing member of the Secretariat, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission, Head of the Central Steering Committee 35 Tran Cam Tu attended and directed the Conference.

Attending and chairing the Conference were Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35 Nguyen Trong Nghia; Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35 Nguyen Xuan Thang.

Speaking at the Conference, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35 Nguyen Trong Nghia stated that in the context of 2024, the world, regional and domestic situation, in addition to opportunities and advantages, also has difficulties, challenges, and many complicated issues arising. The Central Steering Committee 35, closely following the direction of the Politburo and the Secretariat and from practical requirements, has led, directed, operated, and organized the implementation of the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints methodically and resolutely, and achieved many important results.

Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35 Nguyen Xuan Thang assessed that over the past year, positive information has permeated deeply into people's lives and has been highly appreciated by the international community.

Emphasizing that 2025 is a year with many events and important national holidays, comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang said that the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation needs to create a unified awareness throughout the Party and society about the new contents in the documents of Party Congresses at all levels, the implementation of the summary of Resolution No. 18; major and new decisions of the Party and State to have effective implementation actions in practice; strongly spreading positive information, using beauty to push back ugliness, especially on digital platforms.

At the Conference, delegates focused on contributing ideas to complete the Draft Summary Report of 2024, key tasks for 2025; discussed and analyzed in depth new, creative and effective ways to address limitations and difficulties; forecasted the situation and proposed solutions for leadership, direction and implementation in the coming time; evaluated outstanding results, new creative points, breakthroughs in performing assigned tasks of departments, ministries and branches in the action plan of the Steering Committee in 2024 and announced the conclusion of the leaders of the Central Steering Committee 35 at the Conference to review the first six months of 2024.

After listening to the enthusiastic and responsible opinions of the delegates and giving directions to the Conference, Standing member of the Secretariat, Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee, Head of the Central Steering Committee 35 Tran Cam Tu assessed that the Draft Report was carefully and seriously prepared; the comments were very responsible, clarifying many issues arising from practice, and at the same time proposing practical and valuable solutions.

The Standing Secretariat acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the Central Steering Committee 35 and Steering Committees 35 at all levels, ministries and branches in 2024.

Last year, the Politburo issued Conclusion No. 89 on continuing to implement Resolution 35 of the 12th Politburo with specific goals and tasks on continuing to promote and improve the effectiveness of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting and refuting erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new situation.

Agencies and the press have proactively, actively, promptly and effectively participated before, during and after important political, economic, socio-cultural, national defense, security and foreign affairs events of the Party and State; and complicated and sensitive issues occurring in a number of ministries, branches and localities.

Many press agencies such as Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Communist Magazine, Religion Magazine, People's Army Newspaper, People's Police Newspaper have taken the lead in building specialized pages and columns to propagate important issues of the country, while resolutely fighting and refuting erroneous and hostile viewpoints in many diverse and attractive forms, increasingly meeting the needs of readers, creating a positive mainstream of information in the press and on cyberspace.

In addition to the achieved results, the Standing Secretariat also pointed out that there are still some shortcomings and limitations: The awareness and responsibility of some Party committees and organizations in performing this task are not high; information and propaganda are not attractive enough to the people; the work of combating and removing bad and toxic information, wrong and hostile views is sometimes not timely; although the rate of bad and toxic information is not high, it has a great impact and influence on the ideology of cadres, Party members and people; the handling of some sabotage subjects is still prolonged; there is still a situation where the press uses sensational headlines to attract views, providing false information about the nature of the incident, causing public confusion, insecurity and creating an excuse for hostile forces to take advantage of to sabotage the Party and the State.

Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu assessed that the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against and refuting hostile and erroneous viewpoints has a very important role and position. Therefore, there are a number of issues that need attention for effective implementation.

Specifically: Closely follow the direction of the Politburo and the Secretariat, especially Conclusion 89 of the Politburo, on continuing to thoroughly and more deeply grasp the importance of the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting and refuting erroneous and hostile viewpoints.

In the new period, this is determined to be a class struggle on the ideological and theoretical front; an important task of the entire Party, the entire people, the entire army and the entire political system.

Party committees, Party organizations, agencies and units need to coordinate very closely, synchronously and promptly in implementation.

At the same time, carefully review and evaluate the actual effectiveness and results achieved to point out limitations, weaknesses, difficulties, obstacles, lessons learned, and organize the implementation of tasks and solutions for 2025 in a very positive and effective manner.

The Central Steering Committee 35 and the Central Propaganda Department continue to strengthen leadership, direction, guidance, and inspection of Party committees, Party organizations, and Steering Committee 35 at all levels.
