Phong Nha Wild Trail 2026 - Running for nature, preserving heritage

QTO - On the morning of December 11th, Phong Nha Wild Joint Stock Company held a press conference to announce the "Phong Nha Wild Trail 2026" trail running race. This is a large-scale sports and tourism event, promising to attract a large number of domestic and international athletes. Attending the press conference were representatives from the Provincial People's Committee Office, leaders of departments, agencies, and localities; representatives of the press; and athletes participating in the race.

The Phong Nha Wild Trail 2026 race is organized by Phong Nha Wild Joint Stock Company, under the direction of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, and international professional partners.

The race will take place from May 28th to 31st, 2026 in Phong Nha commune, Quang Tri province. Notably, this is the first time in Vietnam that a race has been licensed to allow athletes to venture deep into the heart of the primeval forest, a strictly protected area with a diverse, rare, and unique ecosystem.

In this inaugural season, the race includes five distances: 5km, 10km, 20km, 50km, and 70km. Notably, the 50km and 70km distances will offer athletes a rare opportunity to delve deeper into the heart of the primeval forest, allowing them to explore and admire the pristine, million-year-old beauty of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park.

With the message "Run the Natural's Heritage" and three core values ​​– ecosystem conservation, local economic development, and promoting a green lifestyle – Phong Nha Wild Trail 2026 aims to promote tourism and the unique landscape of the Phong Nha-Ke Bang World Natural Heritage Site, foster sustainable sports development, raise community awareness in preserving nature, and develop ecotourism; while also creating a friendly playground for domestic and international runners.

At the press conference, a cooperation agreement was signed between Phong Nha Wild Trail and the Association of Long-Distance Running in Asia-Oceania (AOUA), making Phong Nha Wild Trail the first AOUA member in Vietnam. In addition, the Organizing Committee also took time to answer questions from journalists and athletes regarding preparations, the race route, and accompanying activities within the framework of the race.
