Parents suspect "poor quality milk": Chu Minh Kindergarten has found a replacement product

On the afternoon of October 29, at the meeting between the Board of Directors of Chu Minh Kindergarten (Quang Oai Commune, Hanoi) and representatives of parents of each class, they agreed to stop using "Gold Life Grow Plus - Nutritional supplement formula"; instead, they will use a more familiar product in 2 snacks/week.

Unified milk replacement products for children

Regarding the incident, Chu Minh Kindergarten (Quang Oai, Hanoi ) used "Gold Life Grow Plus - Nutritional supplement formula" in 2 snacks for preschool children, causing parents to worry. The reason for concern is because this product is a 'strange milk', rarely appearing on the market and doubting its quality, so parents requested the school to change to another product.

On the afternoon of October 29, representatives of parents of each class and the school agreed to use the product "Nutifood - GrowPLUS+ Powdered Milk" in cans, for children 1 year old and older.

Both of the above products (Gold Life Grow Plus and Nutifood - GrowPLUS+ Powdered Milk) are distributed to the school by Thu Giang Construction and Trading One Member Co., Ltd.

Parents with children studying at Chu Minh Kindergarten shared: "Compared to the bagged type, we parents think that the product packaged in cans will be easier to preserve and ensure better quality during use. GrowPLUS+ Powdered Milk is a popular product on the market, easy to buy, so it helps parents feel more secure."

Another parent whose child is studying at Chu Minh Kindergarten said: "Gold Life Grow Plus - Nutritional supplement formula product" is very strange, parents have not seen it on the market. If it is good, the 'milk' should be widely sold on the market, we have asked milk agents and large grocery stores in many places but no one knows about this 'milk' so we are worried that this 'milk' (ie "Gold Life Grow Plus - Nutritional supplement formula product") does not guarantee quality".

Thu Giang Construction and Trading Company Limited brings 2 Nutifood products (blue as shown in the photo) for the school and parents to agree on a replacement product.

However, at the end of the meeting on the afternoon of October 29, parents wanted their children to use Nutifood's milk - GrowPLUS+ Powdered Milk for children 1 year and older and the school approved it. Regarding the product design: "The school will inform parents that in the next few days, the supplier will bring this product to the school for parents to check," said a parent from the school.

Parents and the Parents' Association President have not yet reached a common voice.

At the meeting with reporters from the Vietnam Women's Newspaper, Ms. L. was introduced by the school leaders as the President of the Parents' Association/Parents' Representative Board of Chu Minh Kindergarten. She expressed her indignation and affirmed that in the meeting with the school (the meeting on October 27) , there were 5 parents and all 5 parents signed a commitment not to comment on the 'milk' used in the preschool children's snacks .

However, when the reporter raised the issue, the opinions of 5 parents could not represent more than 300 parents of the school and it could not be affirmed that the remaining 300 parents did not reflect or doubt the quality of products used in meals at school.

When asked why the school changed from the product "Gold Life Grow Plus - Nutritional supplement formula" to another product without the wishes or opinions of parents, what was the reason?

Ms. L. could not give a convincing answer.

Parent N. said indignantly: "The school's Parents' Association President is siding with the school and the company, not protecting the children's rights. During the meeting, parent L. did not listen to opinions and constructively contribute to the school to carry out the school year's tasks well, ensuring the children's rights."

Regarding this issue, Ms. Phuong Thi Bich Lien, Principal of Chu Minh Kindergarten, shared: "Because parents searched for information online but could not find this product. Parents asked milk stores and milk distributors, but they did not know. Parents discussed with the school, the school explained that 'the teachers cannot confirm' this must be tested by the superior agency to see if this milk is good or bad. If parents do not feel secure, they will switch to the familiar line ".

In particular, Ms. Phuong Thi Bich Lien affirmed that the change in milk comes from the parents' needs.

Duties and rights of the school's parents' representative board

According to the provisions of Article 6 of the attached Charter Circular 55/2011/TT-BGDDT on the duties and rights of the class's Parents' Representative Board, including some duties of the school's Parents' Representative Board:

+ Coordinate with the Principal to organize the implementation of school year tasks and educational activities according to the content agreed upon at the beginning of the school year meeting of the school's Parents' Representative Board;

+ Coordinate with the Principal to guide, propagate and disseminate laws and policies on education to parents to enhance their responsibility in caring for, protecting and educating students;

+ Coordinate with the Principal to organize education for students with poor conduct to continue training during the summer vacation in the locality;

+ Coordinate with the Principal to educate students in ethics; foster and encourage good students, help weak students; help poor students, disabled students and students in other difficult circumstances; encourage students who have dropped out of school to return to school;
