The An Luong embankment is more than 1.1 km long, completed in 2008 to protect more than 500 households in An Luong and Thuan An villages.

The heavy rains of the past few days have caused the Thu Bon River to rise, large waves to hit the foot of the embankment, causing many sections to erode 5 to 10 meters deep, and the concrete road surface to be washed away, directly threatening hundreds of households living along the river.

Faced with the emergency situation, Duy Nghia commune authorities organized the evacuation of 64 households with 234 people to safety.

At the same time, set up barriers, prohibit vehicles from passing through dangerous areas and mobilize all local forces, with the support of many officers and soldiers of Division 315 (Military Region 5), Border Guard, Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police and other forces to urgently reinforce landslide locations.

The forces dropped sandbags, set up stone cages, covered with tarpaulins to prevent erosion, and used excavators and trucks to transport more than 27,000m³ of soil to reinforce key locations.

At the scene, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh praised the proactive and decisive spirit of the commune government, armed forces and people in responding to and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters; requested the authorities to urgently assess the overall extent of damage and propose long-term reinforcement solutions for the An Luong embankment and neighboring vulnerable areas.

Duy Nghia commune authorities need to maintain a 24/7 standing force, ready to respond when situations arise and ensure the safety of people's lives and property as top priority.

Next, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh inspected the landslide situation at An Bang sea embankment, Hoi An Tay ward.

In recent days, big waves and high tides have caused many sections of embankment to collapse, landslides to eat deep into the mainland, directly threatening residential areas and coastal roads.

Here, more than 100 officers and soldiers of Regiment 971 (Da Nang City Military Command) are actively coordinating with local forces to build sandbags, erect stone cages, and temporarily cover with tarpaulins to protect the coast and nearby structures.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh encouraged the forces to make efforts to overcome the unfavorable weather conditions.
