The households had left their homes so there were no casualties, but their property was completely buried. The authorities were only able to pull out one motorbike, but the vehicle was also severely damaged. The surrounding households were urgently evacuated to avoid further landslides.
Since last night, many sections of Provincial Road 12 and Truong Son Dong Road have been cut off, leaving hundreds of households in Yang Hanh isolated. Many houses have collapsed roofs and are deeply flooded, but authorities have not been able to reach them.
"The commune has mobilized local forces to evacuate flooded households to temporary shelters at higher elevations and is calculating the damage to request emergency assistance," said Mr. Y Huan.
